The Google 7-11-4 rule explained

The Google 7-11-4 rule explained…

By

You may not have heard of this unless you are in marketing, but the 7-11-4 rule from Google states that in order for a customer to make a purchase, they need to be engaged with your brand for 7 hours, have 11 touchpoints, and interact with you across 4 different locations or platforms.

Let me break this down for you and then tell you how you can do us both a favour, getting you and I to a win, win situation!

7 hours of engagement.
That really does mean that you have to spend a big old chunk of your time absorbing the Woodfarm content.

11 touchpoints
Roughly translated means you need to interact with the Woodfarm brand at least 11 times across various sources, whether that be social media, email, our website, etc. Ie, places you can ‘touch’ Woodfarm before you ‘buy’.

4 locations
Moving on to the four in the 7-11-4 rule, this doesn’t mean you have to be looking at us in your lounge, your bathroom, your kitchen, and your garden. It means four of our locations.

Don’t panic. We have plenty of locations for you to look at, and I’m not talking about Stonham Aspal, Snape Maltings, Woodbridge, and Tuscany. This all refers to the process before you buy remember? I’m talking about our marketing locations.

What are those locations?
1) That’s our website, where we’ve spent countless thousands of pounds and countless thousands of hours building it and making it as good as we can. It’s our main shop window to the world. We have tens of thousands of visitors to it every month, and we rank really highly for many search terms to do with holidays, dog-friendly holidays, hot-tub holidays, holidays in Suffolk etc.

2) Across social media, we’re mostly active on Facebook, as well as Instagram to a lesser extent, and a bit on TikTok when the mood takes me. I was on Truth Social for a little while, but I upset Donald Trump, so we’re not on there anymore. I sort of got banned by the orange one’s people.

3) We do extensive email marketing and have thousands of subscribers. We believe our content is fun, informative, interesting, and engaging. And if you disagree with that, well, that’s cool. You can just unsubscribe any time you like. If you’re not actually subscribed yet, then why not do that? You can join our newsletter and get a voucher for £50 off your first break if you haven’t stayed before. Just go to the homepage of our website and scroll down to the bottom to do that.

It’s free, and as I said, you can leave any time you want. This isn’t the Hotel California.

4) YouTube. We’ve spent a great deal of time over the last few years building our YouTube channel, which now has many hundreds of videos. Some of those videos are really stupid, but most of what we have on YouTube is geared towards answering your Frequently Asked Questions. Our goal is to answer literally any question you could possibly have. And I do invite you to just simply get in touch if we haven’t answered your question or you can’t find the answer.

We answered hundreds of questions, from:

• Is Woodfarm dog-friendly?

• How many dogs do you allow?

• Do you have anywhere my dog can exercise?

• What’s included in my Woodfarm stay?

• Are the hot tubs private?

• Do you have wood burners?

• What time is arrival and departure?

• What is there to do in the area?

Those, and so much more.

Getting back to our website, we have hundreds and hundreds of Blog Posts all about Suffolk and a growing collection on Tuscany.
