Entrance to Euronics car park in Lucca

Parking in Lucca

By

Lucca is my favourite city on the planet. There may be better ones in other opinions, but it’s my favourite out of all those I’ve visited. Parking can be daunting though, so here’s my suggestion to make things easy, along with a few tips of where to go.

You can see my little rough guide to Lucca here.

There is a Euronics store just outside the city walls, with a car park. It says it’s free for customers, but I’ve never had to pay either way. The barrier is usually up, but if it’s down and a ticket is needed, take one. I’ve never needed to pay to get out though! The exit is the other side of the car park. Make sure you turn left when you come out. It’s the only road that feels odd as you will feel like you are driving on the left!

The address is Viale Carlo Del Prete 965, pointed to here on this map I’ve done for you;

Refer back to the map and the pics below for my suggestions of:

  • Where to enter the city walls at Porta Santa Maria. You can hire a bike here and ride around the city walls. I highly recommend this! Get an electric one if you want to make life easier.
  • Head to Via Fillungo. It’s the main ‘High Street” of Lucca, and has tons of beautiful shops.
  • Head to Piazza dell’ Anfiteatro for lunch. It is a gorgeous old piazza, that was once an amphitheatre. It’s lined with a choice of restaurants.
  • If you go right to the end of Via Fillungo and turn right onto Via Roma, you will then end up on Piazza San Michele, which is just stunning.

Please note that I took this as a panoramic pic. The tower does NOT lean. Not all towers in Tuscany are badly built!

I hope that helps.
