Where should I go on holiday in autumn in the UK?
With staycations becoming very much a part of our ‘new normal’, we’ve seen the UK domestic holiday industry boom over the past few months. That means there’s only one course of action – prepare now for your autumn holiday in the UK, before everyone else gets there first!
If you’ve been late booking your summer holiday, you’ve probably already experienced the frustration of trying to find the perfect staycation before the summer ends. Here at Woodfarm Barns, we’ve got barely any spaces left for the rest of the summer in our Luxury, Dog-Friendly Holiday Cottages with Hot Tubs and Holiday Barges, and we’re unfortunately having to turn scores of people away every day.
If you’re planning a holiday in autumn, we recommend booking as soon as possible, as you’re bound to have the same problem if you leave it until September.
But now, the question is: ‘Where should I go on holiday in autumn in the UK?’. And we’ve got the answer:
Suffolk!
Autumn holidays in Suffolk
Suffolk is a wonderfully diverse rural and coastal county where you can avoid the crowds of Cornwall and East Sussex, but still get the seaside fun and relaxation you’ve been waiting for all year. With 50 miles of coastline and iconic, chocolate-box villages, you can enjoy the autumn sun on your walks, then dive inside a cosy pub or independent cafe for a drink or some hearty, locally produced food when the evening draws in.
Where to stay in Suffolk in autumn
If you’re thinking about heading to Suffolk this autumn, you’ll feel right at home at Woodfarm Barns and Barges, with our selection of tranquil holiday cottages in the heart of the Suffolk countryside.
Cosy up in countryside cottages
At Woodfarm Barns, we have six Luxury, Dog-Friendly Holiday Cottages. Each of these sleeps two guests and up to three dogs. We also have a beautiful 15th-century farmhouse which sleeps two guests and up to three dogs.
Why they’re perfect for autumn
Each of these cottages has a log-burning fire and underfloor heating for those cool autumn evenings. Five cottages have Hot Tubs, which are perfect for relaxing under starry Suffolk skies. Other luxuries include Nespresso coffee machines for comforting hot drinks. To find out more about our Cottages and book a stay, check out the Barns page.
Relax on riverside barges
We also have two Historic Dutch Barges that have been converted into stunning Holiday Cottages. Onderneming is moored at Snape Maltings on the River Alde and sleeps up to eight, while Twee Gebroeders is moored at the Tidemill in Woodbridge on the River Deben and sleeps up to four.
Why they’re perfect for autumn
Enjoy a relaxing and cosy environment with full insulation and central heating (and a log burner aboard Onderneming), in excellent locations where autumnal events, such as food and craft fairs, take place throughout the season.
We hope you enjoy your autumnal holiday, wherever you decide to stay! If you have any questions about our Luxury Suffolk Holiday Cottages, don’t hesitate to contact us.
