Woodfarm in the Media

Our Dog-friendly holiday cottages have been featured on various press and media platforms over the years, so here’s a few of our favourites, pulled together in one place for you. We’ve been on The BBC, ITV, LBC, The Times, Dog Friendly Magazine, and a handful of other places too.

As well as featuring, we’ve also appeared in a few programmes on telly as our Barges are in such iconic locations. I’ve chucked those in too for fun.

BBC Five Live were doing a piece on Brexit on their Wake up to Money programme and asked for contributions. I was surprised and pleased that Sean Farrington read out the name of the business but he did, so I was pleased about that as it doesn’t hurt for more people to hear about us. Nice of Mickey Clark to plug Suffolk too, saying he was heading up in a couple of weeks. They even mentioned us again a little while later when recapping. This is what happened…..

So there I was aboard Onderneming one day in 2018 and ITV turned up! I was happy minding my own business when reporters Kate Prout and Becky Jago turned up and said hi! They were in Suffolk filming a piece on dog walking in Suffolk as part of the ITV series ‘Tales & Trails; Dog Walks in East Anglia’. They’d stumbled across us online as somewhere dog walkers could stay and enjoy some luxury whilst their dogs could enjoy some nice walks so they thought they’d pop along and have a look.

Our Barge ‘Twee Gebroeders’ in The Times

The Times featured our beautiful Dutch Barge Twee Gebroeders this week in their ‘weekend’ supplement. We are so pleased that The Times saw fit to put a little piece into their ‘weekend’ paper on Saturday February 3rd 2018. They had a page on ‘Love Nests – Great places for two’, in The Times Travel section, featuring 16 suggestions around the country and Twee Gebroeders was one of them!

Our Barge ‘Onderneming’ in The Times

Following The Times newspaper featuring our other Dutch Barge Twee Gebroeders in February 2018, we were delighted that Onderneming has since been featured by them too! We thought it was pretty cool to have a listing in The Times for Twee Gebroeders in their list of ‘Love Nests: Great Places for Two’. This has given us some great kudos as the travel supplement of The Times is such a well known source for travellers and holidaymakers.

James O’Brien is one of my media/journalist heroes, and as an avid listener I was delighted to have a chat with him on 24th June 2020 as we were emerging from lockdown. It was a piece on how businesses have been affected and how they were preparing to come out of it. We had a really good conversation on the topic and he challenged me at one point. I was very pleased to hold my own and him concede the point I was making. I was even more pleased when he asked me to plug the business. The phone didn’t stop ringing all day after that! The programme is about relocation but they very kindly suggested that you may wish to have a little break in Suffolk aboard “This fabulous 100ft Dutch Sailing Barge”. The piece on Onderneming was a fantastic advert for us, so do go and have a look. Not one, but BOTH of our Barges were on! They filmed all over Suffolk and even captured a shot of Twee Gebroeders in Woodbridge, albeit that there were other boats in front of her!

The programme really was a fabulous spotlight on Suffolk, as well as being exciting for us here at Woodfarm HQ. We feature at around 26 mins and 50 seconds so do go and take a look.

OK! Magazine:

I always imagined when I made it to this particular publication, it would be for the controversy surrounding my exclusion from ‘Ocean’s 11’ after they discovered Brad Pitt, or for my on/ off relationship with Claudia Whatsherface.

I guess having one of our Barges in there is better for business though.

Dog Friendly Magazine is arguably one of the industry leaders, and a respected journal amongst dog lovers. So we were delighted to have such an amazing 6 page feature in June 2018! We met one of the writers for Dog Friendly Magazine in February 2018, Emma Bearman, and her partner James, along with well known Instagram dog Alfie Bear and his little African Pygmy Hedgehog ‘Snuffles the explorer’. They came to stay in one of our Barns at Woodfarm Central and then aboard our huge Dutch Barge ‘Onderneming’. And they loved them both!

We’ve also had mentions in a number of other publications, such as The Telegraph, Metro, The Daily Mail and the Mail on Sunday. This all helps us and is all good stuff obviously.

Popped up in the background on the telly again!

Time Team

Mum, we’re on the telly again!

This time with Baldrick! In an episode of #timeteam, which was more boaty than a particularly boaty boat on national boat day.

Right opposite Twee Gebroeders in Woodbridge, is the Longshed Museum, and the Time Team did a whole feature on the rebuilding of a Viking longship, as we are just over the river from Sutton Hoo.

Google ‘Time Team Woodbridge’, and it’ll come up. It’s a fascinating watch, and yes, as you can see, Twee Gebroeders is in it a lot!

It is quite exciting to see things you own on the telly.
