The words happy new year spelled out in scrabble blocks

Where to Spend New Year’s Eve in Suffolk

Having spent the past few years in and out of lockdown, it almost seems strange to think that we ever celebrated the beginning of a new year doing anything more special than a boozy quiz over Zoom. Now that we are out of lockdown, however, it seems the sensible thing to do is to plan a proper return to form and find somewhere special to perform the countdown into 2023.

In Suffolk, we’re a little spoiled for choice when it comes to new year’s festivities, with numerous pubs and venues hosting events that range from galas to soirees and everything in between. To get you inspired, we’ve rounded up a small selection of events that are well worth consideration:

New Year’s at Cosy Club, Ipswich:

When it comes to cosy spots in Suffolk, we’re willing to accept that the Cosy Club in Ipswich gives even our Barns and Barges for rent a run for their money. Situated in Ipswich’s Buttermarket, the aptly named Cosy Club is hosting its own New Year’s Eve party that provides ticket holders with:

  • A table for the evening
  • A cocktail on arrival
  • A glass of bubbles for the countdown
  • An appropriately glitzy celebration

Featuring a live band, there’s no doubt that the festivities at the Cosy Club will serve as a timely reminder of how to celebrate the new year in style.

New Year’s at Venue16, Ipswich:

Another venue within a short distance of our Barns to rent, Venue16 is nestled in acres of beautiful grounds on the outskirts of Ipswich. Presenting another fantastic opportunity to get dressed up for a night of dancing and celebrations, Venue16’s New Year’s Eve party entitles ticket holders to:

  • Canapes and fizz on arrival
  • A two course meal
  • A cheese board served after dinner

Between enjoying all of these items, guests will be treated to live entertainment and music from accomplished DJs. Undoubtedly one of the finest ways of welcoming in 2023, and only a short taxi trip from our Barns, Venue16’s annual celebration comes highly recommended.

Briarbank Brewery, Ipswich:

Promising a night with a decidedly rock and roll flavour, the Briarbank Brewery in Ipswich will be hosting a live covers band to mark the end of 2022. Of course, there’s few better refreshments to enjoy alongside such entertainment than the fine selection of beers on offer with Briarbank Brewery. In short, if you’re looking to properly send off 2022 and welcome 2023 with a bang, this is the place to be in Suffolk.

Of course, if it’s a quieter celebration you’re planning on, you can just as easily sit back in the tranquil settings of our Barns and share a glass or two of fizz in the hot tub. With every option comfortably catered for, we’re confident that you won’t go wrong when visiting Suffolk for New Year’s Eve.
