What’s On in Suffolk in Autumn 2021?
Whilst it pains us to write an article discussing autumn when it feels as though we never got to enjoy summer, it certainly pays to plan ahead when visiting Suffolk in autumn. Thankfully, with restrictions being lifted and life going back to normal, this autumn presents a fantastic opportunity to truly appreciate the many things that make Suffolk an exciting place to holiday in. It is with this in mind that we’ve put together a list of events and goings-on to enjoy when staying on board one of our Barges or at one of our Barns over the next few months. Be sure to check back often, we’ll be updating this as more dates and events are confirmed!
Sound City Ipswich
Taking place at the start of October, Sound City Ipswich is billed as a multi-venue music festival that features a wide range of acts across a host of genres. Hugely successful back in 2019, Sound City Ipswich previously sold out and earned itself a strong reputation for bringing exciting new talent to the town. A great way of experiencing the many fantastic venues on offer around Ipswich, the festival presents a fantastic opportunity to get back to dancing again!
Heveningham Hall Firework Display
When it comes to firework displays, they don’t come much better than the annual celebrations at Heveningham Hall. From a giant bonfire at the heart of the venue to the backing sounds of outstanding live music – chart toppers The Feeling played back in 2019 – this event has all the hallmarks of a great firework display. With the pyrotechnics and entertainment earning the event a stellar reputation, you won’t want to miss this if you find yourself in Suffolk in November.
Ways With Words Festival
In one of our previous blogs, we’ve made no secret about the role Suffolk has played in some of the finest books ever written. It will therefore come as no surprise to learn that Southwold hosts an annual literature festival on the coast. A brilliant excuse to visit one of Suffolk’s most picturesque locations, this festival brings together poets and speakers that promise to provide outstanding entertainment whilst you enjoy a tipple.
Beccles Christmas Lights Switch On
Before hitting the Christmas fayres and before celebrating Christmas itself, there’s nothing quite like showing up for the annual light switch on in Beccles. Promising decidedly festive proceedings, the switch on in this charming town takes place at 6PM and is accompanied by a selection of street performances, reindeer and a showcase of all the best independent shops and eateries on offer in Beccles. A great excuse to get wrapped up and stock up on stocking fillers, we can strongly recommend this for all holiday goers in autumn.
In order to enjoy all of these events in style, be sure to book one of our Barges or Barns for rent in Suffolk. Serving as the perfect base from which to enjoy all of these events, you’ll have the ideal base to return to once the proceedings have drawn to a close.
