The Greyhound Friends UK charity and our holiday cottages in Suffolk
One of the main reasons our guests at Woodfarm love our cottages (and why some just can’t stay away!) is because all of our holiday cottages in Suffolk are dog friendly. A walk in the Suffolk countryside isn’t quite the same without man’s best friend, so we’ve made sure they can come on holiday too.
We don’t simply tolerate dogs, we welcome them!
Given that the majority of our guests bring their pups to stay with us (they need a break too), we thought we’d give a little back to the canine community. That’s why, for a limited period, when you use the code GREYUK, we’ll give 10% of the price of your stay to Greyhound Friends UK when you book your next holiday.
They are an incredibly hardworking charity that raises funds to help organisations who rescue and re-home the many greyhounds, galgos (Spanish greyhounds) and lurchers abandoned (or worse) each year in the UK and overseas. It is run by volunteers helping to get the dogs back on their feet, sourcing homes to look after them until they are fit enough to be adopted into a loving family.
Like every charity, Greyhound Friends UK comes with its costs, so they seek help from dog lovers and organise fundraisers to give the poorly dogs the care and attention they need. Give their page a like on Facebook and you’ll be able to see their daily successes, and brilliant photos and videos of the hounds enjoying life again.
Especially in the colder months when it gets a bit nippy, life as an abandoned Greyhound will be tough, so by donating to the lovely people down at Greyhound Friends you can help them raise awareness of the charity. This will help to do things like increase knowledge of who to call if you find a lost dog, provide shelter and food for them when they are taken in, and most importantly, give them any medical attention (there’s no doggy NHS unfortunately).
If you haven’t arrived at this page via Greyhound UK then do check out their Website and Facebook pages to see how you can get involved.
Obviously, it would be lovely if you book with us and use the code above, but you can always help them out too. Maybe even treat your dog to a nice day out at one of their fundraisers!
So simply grab your diary and go to our Availability & Prices page to start getting excited about the best Greyhound-friendly holiday or short break you’ll have.
