Deben Barn finer details

You enter Deben Barn into a spacious farmhouse-style kitchen/ lounge/ diner with a comfy, squishy sofa and pretty antique pine table next to the stable door entrance. In the warmer weather you can open up the door for a lovely airy start to the day. Your fully equipped kitchen in this luxury holiday cottage is well laid out with ample work surface, a kitchen range cooker, Belfast sink, microwave and fridge, kettle, four-slice toaster, etc.

The room has a high vaulted ceiling with impressive oak beams and trusses giving it a spacious atmosphere. A nice squishy sofa sits next to the rear stable door.

Like all the cottages at Woodfarm Barns there is a smart TV and bicycles are provided free of charge, along with free Wifi.

The living area leads through to a romantic en-suite bedroom with a quirky antique painted brass double bed and high vaulted and beamed ceiling. The bathroom has a good-sized powerful shower with ‘watering can’ style rose, loo and hand basin with luxury hand soap.

Deben Barn has toasty underfloor heating at no extra cost. We can provide logs for your wood-burning fire, which we offer at cost as your holiday cottage is already heated.

Dog owners

Because of our fully enclosed gardens we are happy to welcome dogs in all our luxury holiday Barns. We normally welcome up to three dogs. We even leave dog treats, as well as a delicious local breakfast basket for the humans!

We also have a huge fully secure two-acre meadow for our four-legged guests to run around and play with each other, along with seating for the two-legged guests to chat as well! There’s a smaller section inside for nervous or older dogs to exercise on their own.

Hot-Tub Luxury in Suffolk

Outside you have a fully-enclosed private garden, with a patio and BBQ with table and chairs for al fresco dining. The great feature of this barn is that you also have your own huge, luxurious hot tub right outside your door! Your luxury spa features 30 jets, one lounger and three further seats. You have plenty of privacy screening around you so you can enjoy the ultimate in countryside relaxation.

There is ample off-road parking.

Deben Barn is one of our five holiday cottage Barns in the secluded meadow beside The Granary, Woodfarm House and Meadow View Cottage.

Each of our holiday cottage Barns in Suffolk is unique in its decor, and we have a choice of ground-floor (like this one) and mezzanine or first-floor options. They are all traditional Suffolk barns in style with black weatherboarding, oak trusses and beams and floorboards or slate flooring. Woodfarm House and Meadow View Cottage are the two halves of our 500-year-old thatched Suffolk farmhouse. Again, both are completely private.

The Barns nestle seamlessly into mature trees, with a Koi and Goldfish pond, and a waterfall feature to create a peaceful, intimate environment to relax and unwind in. As well as your own private, fully enclosed garden, there are landscaped grounds and a decked area overlooking the fish pond, which is a great spot to enjoy the sunset.

We are down a pretty country lane just outside the little Suffolk village of Stonham Aspal.

There are wonderful walks and cycling straight from the Barns and the pretty Suffolk Coast is just 30 minutes away.

All our meadow Barns are named after nearby Suffolk rivers. This Barn is named after the River Deben, which winds its way through, aptly, from nearby Debenham all the way to the ever-popular Woodbridge and then on to the sea.

More reasons to stay at Deben Barn

This lodge with a hot tub is fashioned in the classic coach house style. It features an antique double bed and en-suite bathroom with a fully enclosed garden attached to it. And, you guessed it, this garden includes a luxurious hot tub right outside your back door.

Hot tubs and sleep

In the UK, research has found that 36% of adults have trouble sleeping and getting to sleep on a weekly basis, with nearly 50% of the UK population having trouble getting to sleep at least once a month. Curiously, additional research has revealed that hot tubs help with insomnia because of how they help reduce stress. Many cases of insomnia relate to stress, and as we discussed earlier, hot tubs can help relieve problems with stress. With this in mind, it is suggested that spending some time in the hot tub before heading to bed will improve your chances of getting a good night’s sleep.
