Hello, it’s Carl here, and today I want to talk about the fascinating world of AI and how we use this super hyper technology at our Holiday Barns, Cottages, and Barges in Suffolk. If you’re watching this in the future, you might laugh at me saying that because you’ll probably be using AI for everything. But for now, in mid-2024, here’s how we’re leveraging AI as a valuable tool.
Using AI as a Research Tool
One of the primary ways we use AI is for research. During our marketing meetings, when we’re discussing various topics, AI comes in handy. We can quickly find out the current situation in the UK on various topics by simply asking AI. This helps us to make informed decisions and drive our discussions forward.
Transposing YouTube Video Transcripts
Another significant use of AI for us is transposing scripts and transcripts from our YouTube videos. Instead of typing up everything manually, we record a video, run it through an AI tool, and within seconds, we have a complete transcript. This makes it incredibly easy to create blog posts from our video content. It’s not cheating; it’s using AI to handle the laborious task of typing up all the waffle I say in the videos.
Chatbots vs. Real-time Assistance
Many people are wary of chatbots, which often provide automated, impersonal responses. While we have an automated assistant on our website, it’s actually real and live. When a box pops up saying, “Hi, it’s Carl. Do you have any questions?” anything you type comes directly to my phone or computer. As long as I’m not driving, asleep, or in the middle of something, I will answer you as quickly as I can. So, feel free to ask questions—it’s me, not a robot, responding.
Staying Smart with Technology
We aim to use AI and other technologies smartly, treating them as tools to enhance our operations rather than relying on them for everything. By doing so, we hope to provide better services and ensure a smooth experience for our guests.
