Suffolk Dog Day – near our holiday cottages

As the name suggests, it’s a day for dogs in Suffolk! Owners are allowed too! It’s a charitable event and during the last seven years it has raised over £330,000 for the Suffolk Community Foundation, which supports Suffolk Charities charities and community groups. The Suffolk Community Foundation has given out almost £10 million since 2005. This event is such a hit with our holiday cottage guests and it’s literally just around the corner.

A Day at the Dogs

Suffolk Dog Day has been popular with our holiday cottage guests ever since the start as it’s been going longer than we have. Just! The 2014 event was the 7th and raised £45,000 to help community groups throughout Suffolk. It’s set in the grounds of the stunning Helmingham Hall just around the corner from our holiday cottages.

There’s loads to do as they have classes open to everyone, doglympics, Doggytude, which is a music area with local live bands and artists, kiddies activities, stalls selling everything thing you need for your pooch, as well as a catering village with tea, coffee, cake, lunches etc and on top of that all sorts of other entertainment.

Your ticket price includes entrance to the wonderful Helmingham Hall Gardens, which are well worth a visit; it’s one of the finest gardens in Suffolk and so many of our holiday cottage guests go there as it’s literally round the corner.

Tickets are just £10 for adults and £5 for kids. Family tickets (2+2) are just £25 and included in the price is parking and a programme as well as the entrance to the gardens as I said. They are available on the gate (not credit card payments).
