Our Doggy Shower Stations: Simple, and (thankfully) not £15k

We’ve all been there. You’re out for a long walk in the Suffolk countryside, your dog has found the muddiest puddle imaginable, and now your pristine holiday Cottage faces imminent paw-print peril. Enter our doggy shower stations, a brilliant solution for mucky pups.

But let’s pause for a second, because today (6th December 2024) The Times introduced us to a £15,000 dog shower hut. Yes, fifteen THOUSAND pounds. For that price, we’re assuming it comes with a dog whisperer, a personal masseuse, and maybe even a concierge to book your pooch’s next holiday. To be fair, these are from Plankbridge, the Dorset-based makers of fine huts and log cabins, and they are awesome! We are in no way knocking them, as they look amazing. But with eight Cottages & Barns, we couldn’t really stretch to £120,000. For years now we’ve had our own, much more, shall we say, modest versions doing the same job.

Now, let’s talk about our version. It’s not going to bankrupt you (or us), but it does exactly what it says on the tin:

• Hot and cold taps so your four-legged friend doesn’t shiver their tail off.
• A hose and spray gun to tackle the muddiest of coats.
• Dog shampoo for a spa-like touch (though don’t tell your dog, or they’ll expect cucumber slices for their eyes next).
• And big buckets, because sometimes a simple dunk does the job perfectly.

It’s not flashy, it’s not made of solid gold, and it didn’t cost £15,000. But you know what? It works, and the dogs are happy.

Our doggy shower stations are designed with real dogs and real-life scenarios in mind. Mud, sea salt, and even the occasional fox poo (we see you, mischievous spaniels) stand no chance. And for the record, it’s all included in the price of your stay, no hidden charges.

So, while some lucky dogs are living it up in their palatial £15k hut, our Woodfarm dogs are happily rolling in the mud knowing they’ll have a warm, quick rinse and a cosy Barn, Cottage, or Barge waiting for them afterward. We think that’s pretty pawsome. 🐾
