We are so lucky here at Woodfarm, in the heart of the rural Suffolk Countryside. It’s such a beautiful place to be at any time of the year. But somehow it seems to take on a magical feel at Christmas. The hedgerows and trees lose much of their foliage and seem to typify that appearance of the quintessential English countryside.

Tucked away down a quiet lane on the edge of Stonham Aspal, a Christmas break at Woodfarm is the perfect time to take a walk down our lane in the fresh, crisp Suffolk air and build up an appetite. Suffolk is such a great place for fabulous artisan foods, with many national brands being based here, as well as an abundance of local produce from meats and cheeses to savoury pies and tarts to sweet treats and chocolates, not to mention some of our local wines, beers and ciders.

Christmas is the ideal time to treat yourselves to a luxury self-catering break. We supply a fabulous locally-sourced breakfast basket as standard with every break, consisting of eggs, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, bread, butter, milk, fresh fruit and even some cookies.

So when you get back from a bracing winter walk you can light a proper log fire and tuck into some of those treats.

We have historically been supplied with superb Festive Hampers from The Earsham Street Deli in Bungay. These are just £50 for the whole of December, provided that you order in advance with us when booking you can have one waiting in your Christmas holiday cottage; it’ll be crammed with mouth-watering local Christmas Deli goodies including a selection of very local Suffolk cheeses, Suffolk chutneys, biscuits, Suffolk sliced cured meats, locally produced mince pies, Suffolk chocolates and sweet treats, as well as some locally produced Suffolk alcohol.

We have just two of our luxury self-catering holiday barns available for Christmas 2014 and have now introduced a whopping 25% discount to make it a no-brainer if you’re still considering a last-minute Christmas break.

We have a one-week break left from Monday 22nd, or you can stay for 4 nights from that day too.

We also have a short 2 or 3-night break available from Boxing Day or a 2-night break from Saturday the 27th.
