Framlingham Country Show is not far from our Suffolk holiday cottages

Run by Quintessentially British Events, this one is certainly quintessentially Suffolk, which is handy as it’s very handy for our quintessentially Suffolk holiday cottages. We wrote about it last year and quite a few of our guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves, sampling the very best of all that Suffolk has to offer holidaymakers and locals alike.
From ring demonstrations, rural arts & crafts, live music (I played there last year with my band) cookery demos and lots of stuff for kids and dogs, it’s a real country feast with something for everyone.
You’ll find lots of clothing retailers, tons of food outlets with some real artisan foodie treats and lots of local purveyors of wines, beers and soft drinks. There’s also an interesting array of garden furniture, some of it very unusual. I almost paid £00’s for a tree trunk I realised I didn’t need! It was very impressive though.
One of the fantastic things about the Framlingham show is that it highlights young entrepreneurs in Suffolk, which can only be a good thing. It gives them a platform to exhibit their products and services to a wider audience.
So many of our holiday cottage guests are dog owners and they’ll be especially pleased to learn that there is a festival of dogs, new for 2015. There will be demos covering gun dogs, training, safety, etc., so well worth a look if you are a dog owner.
The great thing about the shopping at events such as this is that you find so much that you don’t find in the town centre. They have everything from amazing cheeses, meats, oils, sauces, chocolates, drinks, etc., to a wide variety of clothing, again, not the usual high street finds.
This year’s show is on the 11th & 12th April so make a date in your diary. We have luxury self-catering holiday barn cottages from £308 for two nights that weekend so you can look at our holiday cottage availability and choose which one you’d like, then start planning what else you’re going to do that weekend. There’s so much to do around here that two days is simply not enough.
