Do you have log fires at your Barns & Barges?
By Carl Scott
This blog post introduces you to a video that I shot to answer the common question of “Do you have log fires at your Barns & Barges?”. It’s part of our series of ‘You Ask, We Answer’ videos and blogs. They cover loads of our FAQ’s, or Frequently Asked Questions, but with a (we hope) really helpful deeper dive.
At Woodfarm Barns & Barges, we understand that planning the perfect getaway involves many questions and uncertainties. To help you navigate through these and to ensure you have the best experience possible, we’ve launched our ‘You Ask, We Answer’ initiative. This approach isn’t just about promoting our Barns, Cottages and Barges; it’s about providing valuable information, solutions, and peace of mind to our prospective guests.
Anyway, this is the video, and the transcript is below it if you wish to go back over anything.
This is what I said…
Real Fires and Log Burners at Woodfarm Barns and Barges
Hello, it’s Carl. We sometimes get asked whether or not we have real fires or log burners at our Barns and Barges. The answer is yes, we do!
Log Burners in the Barns
All six Barns have wood-burning stoves, providing a cosy and warm atmosphere. In addition to the log burners, the Barns are equipped with underfloor heating to ensure you stay comfortable throughout your stay.
Open Fires in the Cottages
Our two Cottages, Woodfarm House and Meadow View Cottage, both have open fires. I’m currently at Woodfarm House, which features a charming open fire. We supply a number of logs to get you started, and if you need more, we provide logs at cost. Here’s a photo of the fire at Woodfarm House:
Isn’t it lovely? Unfortunately, you can’t have the cheese and wine in the picture as they are long gone! (you need to watch the video for that to make sense!)
Fires on Our Barges
Our big Barge at Snape Maltings, Onderneming, also has a log burner in the lower saloon, adding to its cosy ambiance. Woodfarm Tuscany, another one of our properties, features an open fire as well. Here’s a picture of the fire at Woodfarm Tuscany. (same again! Watch the video!)
Exception: Twee Gebroeders
The only exception is Twee Gebroeders, which doesn’t have a log burner. However, it does have a lovely range cooker that will keep you nice and warm during the winter months. Here’s a picture of the range cooker (yep, you guessed it!)
So, to sum up, yes, we do have fires in almost all of our accommodations to keep you warm and cozy.
Oh, and even our little Tuscan bolthole, Casa Trebbio has an open fire too!
