Chinese Chequers – Restaurant & Take-away

We have been to Chinese Chequers a number of times now and they are extremely consistent. The service is excellent and the staff are impeccably polite. The food is also excellent.
It is a town-centre restaurant so is quite bright rather than quiet and cosy but the quality of the food is superb, along with the service as I said. This is why we go there!
There were 5 of us and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We had a variety of starters from their mixed appetisers, crispy duck and salt & pepper squid. We then shared our main courses of rice, Singapore noodles, chicken chow mein, sizzling fillet steak, sweet & sour prawn balls and mixed vegetables. I’m getting hungry again now writing this!
We were all too full for puds so you’ll have to try them for yourself.
They have a decent wine selection, which we happily tucked into, as well as beers and soft drinks.
I have also had a number of guests go there recently, all with the same feedback. An excellent Chinese meal only 7 miles away; it’s a no-brainer.
Parking is easy as there is a public car park opposite.
