Antica Locanda Di Sesto
Antica Locanda Di Sesto is a superb family-run restaurant just 15 minutes or so from Casa Trebbio.
I discovered this wonderful restaurant when I was out there with my old schoolmate and award-winning restaurateur Mark, when we came up with our Loyalty Reward Points programme TOGS. Mark found it in the Michelin guide, as a ‘recommended’ establishment.
It’s an amazing (in my opinion) restaurant that isn’t at all on the tourist trail. It’s very much a local’s place, and I think of it as a Michelin Star type restaurant, without the price tag.
It is really for a special occasion or a proper treat. We spent around €90 for a meal for two including a couple of glasses of their own excellent wine.
Ask for Lamberto, who is likely to be serving you anyway. He speaks perfect English, and runs the front of house, whilst his brother Aurelio (pictured above serving a pasta dish melted into a cheese wheel in front of you!) runs the kitchen. Mum is around too, but doesn’t speak a word of English.
You drive down the hill and into Ponte a Moriano, then over the bridge as you enter the village, and then hang a right. You’ll just come across it.
