A beautiful spot, nestled in the mountains. Amazing views and so peaceful. A real escape from the ‘hustle and bustle of life’. Casa Trebbio is beautifully decorated and feels homely and comfortable. Well done Carl, yet another amazing holiday retreat.

We left rainy UK, one on a bike and one via plane and hire car. My husband (on the bike) managed to befriend lovely neighbours down the hill to give his precious bike board and lodgings. NB everything on Wednesday closes!! Found some great restaurants – Lo Scorfano Brontolone for great fish and Pasticceria Sandra Bianchi (Lucca). A lovely spot in the hills.

We’ve decided that we like it here too much, so have moved in! Sorry everyone but hope you find somewhere else to stay!! Jokes aside, this place, house, area, country is amazing! We ate as much pizza, pasta and gelato as humanly possible in the process! We hit up all the local sites – Lucca – beautiful; Pisa – the tower is fantastic – well worth the climb! Carrara Marble Quarry 15 euro tour was worth its weight in marble! Forte Di Marmi beach – sorted us for our holiday tan! Florence – amazing cathedrals, but our highlight was a pasta making workshop where we made new friends and gorgeous pasta. Our best holiday by a landslide!!

The view, the location and the wild flowers! Lucca is a great city. Villa Reale di Marlia (an Italian equivalent to the National Trust) has lovely gardens and an interesting house with super little café.

Such an amazing place, I loved it. Sitting on the terrace and enjoying a cold beer with a great view, and in the evening listening out for the wild deer barking in the hills.

Visit Lucca for a ride around the city walls and Pisa for the leaning tower! Sestri Levante is a longer drive, but avoid the weekends or get there early as its popular.

Top marks Carl!

Had a wonderful time, thank you Carl.

The house is set in an amazing location, the scenery beautiful and a fantastic terrace, where you can enjoy a glass of wine! Lucca was great, had so much fun on the bike ride around the city walls and lots of interesting architecture. Look forward to a return visit.

Thank you Carl for finding this house.

2nd June 2024 – Gill and Derek:

We have loved our week at Casa Trebbio. The house views are amazing. We visited Monte Cini and Monte Cini Alto. Had a nice lunch in Monte Cini. Loved Monte Carlo, very pretty, and another lovely lunch there took a trip driving along the river to Barney to Luca. Great views.

Stopped at the Devils bridge. Stunning, and yes another lunch can recommend the lasagna at re opposite the bridge. Mostly however we loved going into Luca. Made several trips here including the Pacini Museum, and just, marvelling at the views from the terrace.

We are just coming to the end of our stay at the beautiful Casa Trebbio. It is the perfect
place to relax and unwind. The views are stunning and worth the interesting drive up the hill.
The house is so thoughtfully equipped with everything where you would expect to find it.

We have enjoyed lovely breakfasts on the terrace each morning. There is a first-class restaurant
5 minutes away from the bottom of the hill – Antica Locanda di Sesto, it is very reasonably
priced.

Lucca is a great place to visit and enjoy people watching with some typical Italian
food, drink & hospitality. We’re so pleased that it is very gay-friendly and we are very much look forward to returning.

Hi Carl, the WFB team and future Casa Trebbio guests (you lucky ones!)

We are long-standing Woodfarm fans and it’s been delightful to continue our mission to stay in all the barns and barges and casa’s.

We’ve had the best time here with the right balance of highly active days and lazy days in the Casa and Lucca. We’ve also been very lucky with the weather so we’ve enjoyed two pizzas in the oven on the terrace along with lots of incredible Tuscan wines watching the swallows, lizards, and fireflies. As with all the Woodfarm accommodation, it was a home from home and we wanted for nothing.

Lucca is amazing, felt really at home wandering about, gorgeous friendly people and always something odd happening; a platoon of Roman soldiers entered the Piazza dell’Anfiteatro yesterday (part of the history festival here). We had a great tasting menu meal at Ristorante Giglio, more pricey as Michelin star but it was my birthday! Still cheaper than UK equivalents and also had an amazing lunch at Antica Locanda Di Sesto (the one down the road on the website as well worth a visit and lived up to expectations, and at a cheaper price. Most beautiful pasta ever. Visited Florence twice on the train (long journey) but cheap and less stressful than driving into a busy Italian city, pre-booked the Uffizi, which is a must.

Visited Montecatini Alto on the Funicolare, breathtaking views of beautiful little Tuscan Village, kind of thing you can do in one afternoon. We visited Fattoria Collevede winery; excellent. Basically, we love it here and we will be back.

Well done Carl and the team for bringing Suffolk to Tuscany.

22nd July 2024 – Debbie and David, South Yorkshire.

Thank you for a wonderful day at Casa Trebbio!

It’s been hot hot hot! The breeze on the terrace in the shade of the parasol have made it very pleasant indeed. We visited most of the places you recommend in the info, Lucca is a favourite, so many lovely shops and restaurants.

We also found a lovely spot to go wild swimming in the river Serchio, just north of Bagni Di Lucca, over the rope bridge. Beautiful deep pools you can dive into to cool off in the summer Heat.

Hi Carl, thank you so much for letting us stay in your wonderful home Casa Trebbio! Just absolutely stunning!

We’ve enjoyed some wonderful meals on the terrace including making our own pizzas enjoying a barbecue and enjoyed some tasty breakfast too. The views are to die for, we have visited some beautiful places, Pisa, Montecatini Alto, the beach at Forte Di Marmi, lunch in Lucca, as well as Florence and a couple of other villages too!

It’s been very very hot but the Aircon has been great to cool us. We slept well and we don’t want to go home. Most definitely be back one day.

16th of September – Debbie and Chris, Southampton.

Here to celebrate 10 years of marriage and what an amazing place to stay, thank you Carl.

Our first ever experience of driving abroad and everything at Casa Trebbio was so much worth the long journey. We’ve done so much in our four days here. Pisa, Lucca and a walk to the top of the mountain. We had a lovely conversation with a local lady called Neva. She shared the story of living in the village and showed us a shortcut on our way back to the house! Very much appreciated.

Everything was made perfect ast the Casa for an ‘assolutamente fantastico’ holiday. Many thanks xx

Ci vediamo la prossima volta.
