The Not-so-secret Joy of January Holidays in Suffolk

Santa has been and gone. New Year’s Resolutions are proving to be far less enjoyable than you even imagined. It’s months until the pub gardens open for business again. The solution? Well, as you may have gleaned from the title of this article, it’s to get away for a break at our Barns and Barges for rent in Suffolk.

Though this is entirely self-evident to us and our returning guests, we’ve decided to keep ourselves busy over the weekend by putting together three reasons why January is the ideal time to enjoy a holiday in Suffolk.

There’s plenty going on

Whilst some parts of the country go into relative hibernation in January, Suffolk continues to abound with things to see and do. From performances at the theatres of Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds, to outdoor yoga sessions at the beach and guided walks around some of the county’s sprawling countryside, you won’t be stuck for ideas when coming to visit us right at the beginning of the year. Of course, all of the other attractions of Suffolk are also on offer throughout January – whether it’s shopping, exploring villages, rambling through fields or just about anything else that tickles your fancy!

There are so many cosy pubs and restaurants to check out

There’s nothing quite like a roaring log fire or some warmly lit oak beams to set the scene for some wintertime refreshments. Here in Suffolk we have an outstanding selection of cosy establishments that are perfect for retreating to after a brisk walk along the coast or a day exploring one of the nearby towns. Whether a modern restaurant or a centuries-old countryside pub is your kind of thing, you’re absolutely spoiled for choice when finding somewhere cosy to eat and drink in Suffolk.

There’s nothing quite so refreshing as a wintertime walk in Suffolk

January presents a fantastic opportunity to clear away the cobwebs and get yourself nicely set up for the rest of the year. We’d wager that you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better way of doing this than taking a brisk stroll around the Suffolk coast. Warming yourself with hot chocolates, beaches like Aldeburgh and Thorpeness look every bit as beautiful in winter as they do in summer. It also gives you a great excuse to tuck into some fish and chips, too. If rolling hills and waterways are more your thing, then the villages surrounding Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich are sure to fit the bill. Wherever you decide to roam, you can be confident that you’ll leave your January holiday in Suffolk feeling refreshed and enlivened.

To book your January holiday in Suffolk today, simply take a look at the current availability of our Barns and Barges for rent. We’re confident that you’ll find yourself convinced that it’s the perfect time of year to join us for a holiday and will soon become another of our returning guests who find the tranquillity of our accommodation and surroundings to set them up perfectly for the year ahead.
