Suffolk’s Winter Events Calendar: What’s On in 2024
There’s nothing quite like having something to look forward to when it comes to tonics for the winter blues. Thankfully, here in Suffolk we have an abundance of things to see and do to keep you entertained whilst we wait for the warmth and longer days of summer. From comedy to music and theatre, we’ve put together a calendar of highlights to look out for when joining us for a holiday at one of our Barns or Barges for rent in Suffolk this winter.
Funhouse Comedy Club: 11th January
Headlined by renowned writer and comedian Eddy Brimson, the Funhouse Comedy Club takes dead aim at the January blues and promises to leave its audience positively brimming with positivity. Joined by an assortment of other esteemed comics and quick-witted compere Tony Cowards, we’re confident that when popping out for a night on the town in Suffolk this January, it doesn’t get much better than a visit to the comedy club in Stowmarket.
Johnny Cash Roadshow: 1st February
The only touring show to be endorsed by the Cash family and estate, the Johnny Cash Roadshow takes audiences through a powerful journey of the iconic artist’s catalogue. Joined by his wife Meghan Thomas and a seriously impressive backing band, Clive John has earned a reputation for keeping the legacy of Johnny Cash well and truly alive. Taking place at the state of the art Apex venue in Bury St Edmunds, we’re sure this event will be one of the most spellbinding to take place in Suffolk this winter. There can also be no question that a ring of fire will warm you up this winter. Sorry, couldn’t quite let the opportunity for that one to pass me by…
Winter Tails: 25th February
Billed as an “anti-panto”, the novel Winter Tails performance treats audiences to a variety of animal stories and fables from around the world. Characteristically quirky, the annual performance has previously received glowing reviews from critics who praised its originality and for the way it offers a pleasing relief from the effects of winter. Taking place in Bury St Edmunds’ Guildhall, there’s no doubt that the historic venue makes this anti-panto one to watch out for in February.
To enjoy all of these events, as well as everything else that Suffolk has to offer in winter, be sure to take a look at our selection of Barns and Barges to rent. Providing you with suitably cosy accommodations to return to after a day out enjoying an event, we’re confident that you’ll find everything you need with us this winter.
PS – whilst we love music, we don’t want to spoil the tranquility of Woodfarm with music in our Hot Tubs. Just sayin’.
