The Suffolk Ski Centre near our barges

The mighty peaks of the mountains of Suffolk loom like gods over the country. The ever white snow covered tops of the Suffolk ski centre calling skiers from all around the world to compete on their dangerous and challenging pistes, each more exhilarating and beautiful than the last…well no actually.

Suffolk is actually quite a flat county and not at all well know as a Ski destination, this is what makes Suffolk Ski Centre so unique and important to the area.

Conveniently situated just on the outskirts of Ipswich and only a couple of miles from the town’s stunning marina, the Suffolk Ski Centre makes the perfect diversion from a relaxing time chilling out on a Woodfarm Barge as it is only ten minutes from Onderneming and fifteen from Twee Gebroeders.

Who would ever dream you could go skiing whilst on a holiday to the waterways of Suffolk?

The Suffolk Ski Centre is great fun for all the family. Offering a wide rage of activities and lessons covering everything from Skiing, Snowboarding and Tobogganing to a Climbing Wall, High Ropes and even Golf!

If, like me, just thinking about all that activity makes you feel like a good long rest then thankfully there is also ‘The Lodge’ Bar and Restaurant, where theres a wide variety of food and drink on offer.

So if you’re planning a getaway on a Woodfarm Barge and fancy something completely different for a day then the Suffolk Ski Centre offers some excellent confidence building activities for children and adults alike. There’s nothing better than having a great deal of fun whilst also learning to do something new or developing a new skill.
