Suffolk holiday cottages, plants and gifts
Walking through the doors of Laurel Farm Garden Centre you enter a fabulous cavern of gifts, ornaments, pots & containers, coffee shop and floristry, as well as their huge range of wonderful plants and trees, not to mention Clara Bow; a great vintage shop. All this is just quarter of an hour from our holiday cottages and it’s such a wonderful find in the heart of Suffolk
I love discovering places like this that just seem to be TARDIS-like when you step through the door. Laurel Farm is just on the edge of Ipswich, in Henley and is well worth a trip, whether you are visiting Suffolk staying in one of our holiday cottages, or indeed if you are a local
We have had lots of great quality plants, trees and flowers from Laurel Farm. Our favourite buy has to be the bedding plants for our flower bed! Knowing that their plants are such a good quality we happily recommend Sam and Nigel at Laurel Farm to guests staying our luxury holiday cottages. Our guests very much look for our suggestions as to where to go and visit for all manner of holiday-related things so it’s so nice when we have great Suffolk businesses all around us
Other than the things one would hope to find in a garden centre, they are also turf specialists and one of the cool things on their website is a guide to gardening jobs month by month; a really great tool for a numpty like me! Just click on that blue link and select the month you want to look at!
Once you go through the gift shop to the outdoor plant area, you’ll find the light and airy coffee shop, serving a great range of home made cakes and lunches and fresh tea and coffee
Next to the coffee shop is Clara Bow, which is a couple of little barns crammed full of wonderful vintage household goods, furniture, jewellery and clothing and all at really reasonable prices, which is refreshing! They don’t have a website but they are very active on Facebook so do have a look and ‘like’ them. Better still, pay them a visit
