The Granary Barn finer details
You enter The Granary Barn through a stable door into an open lounge/diner with a farmhouse galley kitchen, which also has a door leading to the huge enclosed garden. In the finer weather you can open up the stable door for a lovely airy start to the day. The flooring on the ground floor is beautifully opulent natural slate, with underfloor heating. The fully equipped kitchen is well laid out with ample work surface, fitted cooker with ceramic hob, Belfast sink, microwave and fridge, kettle and four-slice toaster.
The Granary also features a Nespresso coffee machine with coffee capsules, adding that little extra luxurious touch to your holiday cottage.
The living area features an old circular painted dining table, big comfy, squishy sofa and a lovely old armchair, cosy log-burning fire and Smart TV.
The Granary has exposed oak beams throughout and a beautiful, winding, hand-made timber staircase that leads up to the breath-taking bedroom with its triangular oak feature window wall, with stunning views across the farmland opposite. The bedroom has an iron ‘bedknobs & broomsticks’ style double bed (please be aware though that it doesn’t take off!) and handmade chandeliers from a local forge. The iron wall lights throughout are all made by the same forge, designed by us!
There is a well-organised en-suite shower room with a fixed rose ‘watering can’ style shower, loo and hand basin with luxury hand soap.
The Granary Barn has cosy underfloor heating upstairs and downstairs at no extra cost. We can provide logs for your wood-burning fire, which we offer at cost as your holiday cottage is already heated.
Dog Owners
Because of our fully enclosed gardens we are happy to welcome dogs in all our luxury holiday Barns. We normally welcome up to three dogs. We even leave dog treats, as well as a delicious local breakfast basket for the humans!
We also have a huge fully secure two-acre meadow for our four-legged guests to run around and play with each other, along with seating for the two-legged guests to chat as well! There’s a smaller section inside for nervous or older dogs to exercise on their own.
Outside you have a huge, fully enclosed private garden laid mainly to lawn, with a patio and BBQ with table and chairs for Al Fresco dining.

More reasons to stay at The Granary Barn.
There is ample off-road parking in front of the Granary.
All our luxuriously appointed Barns vary in style, with black weatherboarding, oak trusses and beams and floorboards or slate flooring. Woodfarm House and Meadow View Cottage are the two halves of our 500-year-old thatched Suffolk farmhouse. Again, both are completely private.
The Granary is packed with history and charm; if you’re looking for a truly luxurious holiday cottage in Suffolk then you’ve found it.
The Granary Barn is adjacent to our other Barns, which nestle seamlessly into mature trees, with a Koi and Goldfish pond, and a waterfall feature to create a peaceful, intimate environment to relax and unwind in. As well as your own private, fully enclosed garden, there are landscaped grounds and a decked area overlooking the fish pond, which is a great spot to enjoy the sunset.
The Granary Barn is down a pretty country lane just outside the little Suffolk village of Stonham Aspal. There are wonderful walks and cycling straight from the Barns and the pretty Suffolk Coast is just 30 minutes away. Bikes are also available free of charge, along with free Wifi.
