So relaxing and peaceful and being at one with nature and part of the forests and countryside. Carl provides such a lovely welcome to our beloved dogs to stay here. Suffolk is so pretty and a much more laid back way of life. So many lovely villages to visit, Kersey and Debenham.

Deben Barn has been a delight to stay in, we have thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The hot tub in the evening was so relaxing and warm. Our springer spaniel has fallen in love with the meadow.

Lovely break in a great barn really well provided for. Enjoyed walking at Thornham and Combs with a visit to Helmingham Hall and Framlingham Castle.

A very relaxing few days in this well equipped Barn and outside area with hot tub. Paws Up from Luna and Star our beagles. They woofed down the doggie treats, and doggie shower station appreciated. Recommend Walberswick with lovely fish and chips, Felixstowe beach and promenade for ice cream!

We’ve loved the creaking bones and sloping shoulders of this wonderful hobbit house. Our dogs loved the secure garden and to run around the meadow. Nice trip to Debenham for coffee and Sunday lunch at the Four Horseshoes, Thornham. A perfect tonic from the big smoke!

We had a lovely time – the hot tub was great and the breakfast hamper was tasty. Great vegetarian food at the Walnut Tree and also nice food at the Dog and Shepherd at Onehouse. Our dog loved the meadow.

The perfect place to relax for a few days. Well equipped cottage and breakfast basket far exel all other places we’ve been to.

First visit and we’ve loved it! Hot tub with prosecco was a big hit, and our dog loved the meadow, even better at dusk for us to watch out for owls! Lots of lovely pubs and places including Snape Maltings, Dunwich, Aldeburgh, Southwold all worth a visit.

We used this as a base for a nearby wedding, with the Bride and Bridesmaids getting ready in such a wonderful atmosphere. The cottage gave us much needed peace and tranquillity after the wedding. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Lovely stay at the cottage. Jimmy’s Farm was fabulous and we enjoyed Diss, Lavenham and Kersey was a lovely village. The breakfast package was delicious and the meadow great for the dogs.

Once again, fully enjoyed my stay. Wonderful breakfast basket and the Barn as I remembered it. The garden perfect with shade when the weather is hot, but enough sun to get a tan!

An annual daughter/mum girls weekend staying at this cottage. The location has been the perfect setting for the peace and change of pace we needed. Visited Bury St Edmunds and the Escape Rooms in Ipswich. Will be returning with the rest of our family.

Our second time staying here in this secluded spot for a relaxing weekend. Clean tidy and peaceful. Breakfast supply amazing!

We are just coming to the end of our stay at the beautiful Casa Trebbio. It is the perfect place to relax and unwind. The views are stunning and worth the interesting drive up the hill. The house is so thoughtfully equipped with everything where you would expect to find it. We have enjoyed lovely breakfasts on the terrace each morning. There is a first-class restaurant 5 minutes away from the bottom of the hill – Antica Locanda di Sesto, it is very reasonably priced.

Lucca is a great place to visit and enjoy people-watching with some typical Italian food, drink & hospitality. We’re so pleased that it is very gay-friendly and we are very much looking forward to returning.

The house is set in an amazing location, the scenery beautiful and a fantastic terrace, where you can enjoy a glass of wine! Lucca was great, had so much fun on the bike ride around the city walls and lots of interesting architecture. Look forward to a return visit. Thank you Carl for finding this location.

Such an amazing place, I loved it. Sitting on the terrace and enjoying a cold beer with a great view, and in the evening listening out for the wild deer barking in the hills. Visit Lucca for a ride around the city walls and Pisa for the leaning tower! Sestri Levante is a longer drive, but avoid the weekends or get there early as its popular. Top marks Carl!

The view, the location and the wild flowers! Lucca is a great city. Villa Reale di Marlia (an Italian equivalent to the National Trust) has lovely gardens and an interesting house with super little café.

It certainly has the wow factor – stunning views, beautiful scenery and the house is comfortable and tasteful. Thank you Carl for those extras which made our stay special.

We’ve decided that we like it here too much, so have moved in! Sorry everyone but hope you find somewhere else to stay!! Jokes aside, this place, house, area, country is amazing! We ate as much pizza, pasta and gelato as humanly possible in the process! We hit up all the local sites – Lucca – beautiful; Pisa – the tower is fantastic – well worth the climb! Carrara Marble Quarry 15 euro tour was worth its weight in marble! Forte Di Marmi beach – sorted us for our holiday tan! Florence – amazing cathedrals, but our highlight was a pasta making workshop where we made new friends and gorgeous pasta. Our best holiday by a landslide!!

We left rainy UK, one on a bike and one via plane and hire car. My husband (on the bike) managed to befriend lovely neighbours down the hill to give his precious bike board and lodgings. NB everything on Wednesday closes!! Found some great restaurants – Lo Scorfano Brontolone for great fish and Pasticceria Sandra Bianchi (Lucca). A lovely spot in the hills.

A beautiful spot, nestled in the mountains. Amazing views and so peaceful. A real escape from the ‘hustle and bustle of life’. Casa Trebbio is beautifully decorated and feels homely and comfortable. Well done Carl, yet another amazing holiday retreat.

Amazing house - beautifully furnished with absolutely everything you could possibly need, lots of space and very comfortable but the best feature is the stunning views from every window and the terrace. Close to Lucca which is a wonderful town.Highly recommend.

I will always remember this feeling when walking though the gate and a first ‘live’ view of Woodfarm House. It took my breath away! The inside didn’t disappoint – with wonky floors and twists and turns. Wood Farm House is magical – it wraps around you and makes you feel safe! The meadow was lovely to sit in on a very warm weekend.

What a great last minute find! The breakfast basket was delicious and all the beautiful smelling hand soaps, gel and shampoo. We made good use of the bbq, and the hot tub was great after a couple of days cycling.

Glad we have found Wood Farm Barns. Great place to switch-off and relax. Enjoyed fish and chips on the beach at Aldeburgh and a mouth-watering Sunday road at the Four Horseshoes at Thornham Magna. We plan to be back next year to treat ourselves all over again in this peaceful Suffolk haven.

Another fab stay at the Barns – our first in Alde Barn. We just love it here. The Cretingham Bell serves great food with a huge specials board.

Second visit to Deben Barn and still found it as welcoming and cosy with everything we needed for a weekend break. We enjoyed the breakfast basket whilst the dogs loved their treats rather too much, and had fun in the enclosed garden and field across the road.

Great weekend as always. We have stayed many times but still find new things to visit. Walked to Coddenham and had coffee in the Community Shop/Cafe. Enjoyed a walk at Dunwich Heath. Our dogs loved it as normal, although Bertie didn’t think much of the dog wash station!

Oh my dog!!! I had an amazing time with my human foster parents from the Cinamon Trust. I found a wonderful jar of treats just for me, a warm bath station with towels for when I get dirty! We went to Needham Market, Thornham Walks and walked to Crowfield Church. We did so much walking I was dog tired every night. Thank you so much. I will make sure they bring me back again – they’d be barking made not to!

So glad we came to this wonderful bolt hole for a few days. Great location to see the area. Dogs well catered for. We will be back.

What a wonderful way to spend a weekend – so relaxing! The Barn is cosy, comfortable, and we loved the wood burner and hot tub especially. We explored the local area – Rendlesham forest for a great walk (the UFO trail), Stonham Barns, Southwold and Framlingham.

This cottage is the best of all we have tried @ WFB. Cosy, warm in the winter! The Aga is fun once you have mastered it! Brilliant hot tub used on more than the odd occasion. Excellent breakfast, lots of things to see including a Polar Bear at Jimmy’s Farm. Bury St Edmunds is a must – lots of independent shops, places to eat, and explore the Abbey gardens. RSPB Minsmere is worth a trip as is Ickworth House.

Wow what an awesome time we have had. The house and welcome packs are above and beyond expectations. Well worth a visit to Crowfield Church just down the road, and round the corner, a visit to the Owl Sanctuary at Stonham Barns. Birthday lunch at the Red Lion in Woodbridge with a great local pub atmosphere and cracking food, then a visit to Grange Farm Shop, Hasketon on the way home. Thornham Walks is good with easy paths, followed by the Four Horseshoes pub close by. Recommend Earsham Deli at Snape Maltings, and a walk out into the marshes.

Perfect for a short break for peace and quiet, romantic and cosy. The barn is really beautiful and has everything you could need.

Such a cosy barn after muddy, waterlogged dog walks and the outside hot water doggy shower was very much appreciated by Macey. These barns are simply the best dog friendly place we’ve ever stayed. Favourite walks at Dunwich, Walberswick, Needham Lakes and Hoppit Woods. Lots of good dog friendly pubs too.

Breakfast basket is a fab idea, meaning nothing to worry about on Friday – just getting here and once here, just so relaxing! Thank you for a lovely stay.

A lovely stay as always. Enjoyed the hot tub in the evening after long walks in the day. We took a drive to Newmarket Heath – perfect walk with lots of open fields. You actually get to walk the course, but make sure you go on ‘non race days’ and after 1pm other days. This was my eighth stay at the Barns and I will again return.

This is our second time staying and re-confirmed what a hidden gem this place is! Lovely accommodation, lots of nice walks.

The Granary is so cosy and met all our needs as a base to explore Suffolk. We enjoyed Coffee at Honey and Harvey and the Black Dog Deli. Southwold, Woodbridge Aldeburgh and Yoxford are all beautiful places to visit.

We arrived with Storm Babette in full swing, having to turn back due to floods our determination to reach our beloved Barn held strong. Once at the Barn, we settled in, unwound our minds in the peaceful surroundings and look forward to our next visit.

Fantastic, the welcome basket was excellent with lots of lovely produce. We ate at The Low House/Kings Head, Turks Head and Four Horseshoes. Thornham Walks is brilliant for dog walking.

WFB has become our go to getaway over the years because it has everything a relaxing home from home should have for us and the dogs. A cosy little hideaway with all the charm and comfort. Thank you Team for another lovely stay.

What a fabulous time we had with a magical mix of all the mod-cons in an oldie-wordly setting. The dog treats were a welcome treat and the paddock great for agility training our cocker-poo. This is our first visit but will definitely not be our last.

My mum reckons its the best place they’ve been for a dog friendly holiday. The jar of dog treats for me was wonderful and even went to Doodledales shop to buy more! The best bit was the dog field across the road and the cottage garden was safe so I couldn’t escape! I made friends with a Robin and shared my biscuit crumbs with him too. I would recommend this place to other dogs for a great holiday with their owners.

Onderneming what can we say but wow what a fantastic boat. We loved ‘twee’ last year but there is so much room here. We were here for a relaxing break and that’s what we had. Fab location with loads of walks for the dogs straight off the boat. We did get to a couple of new places this year including Walberswick beach well worth a visit and a great early morning swim had by all. Highly recommend Onderneming and we hope to be back next year to see more wildlife including otters and a barn owl in what is a very magical place. Thank you Carl for allowing us to share your wonderful boat.

We were not sure if 6 adults and 2 children would all fit comfortably but this boat goes on forever! We all had a lovely time celebrating the grandparents belated 70th! Thank you for the yummy breakfast box and all your considerate hospitality.

What a gorgeous setting and so peaceful sat amongst the reeds to eat our breakfast! The barge is fabulous, spacious and very well equipped. Fantastic walks/shopping and a great meal at the Plough and Sail. Thank you.

Suffolk is so calm and peaceful compared to home. We had fabulous weather throughout and enjoyed some gentle walks and pleasant drives. Loved the breakfast hamper and the views from the barge. Very comfy beds, and The Growler kept us on our toes! Thanks Carl.

This trip was a great surprise for my wife’s birthday. She has always wanted to stay on a barge. We both love coming to Woodbridge so staying here was a bonus. The weather was very rainy, but it didn’t stop us from our walks. The barge was beyond our expectation, very comfortable, clean etc. The breakfast hamper was great – thank you. It was great looking through your album on the restoration of the barge, fantastic achievement by all.

We’ve had a very relaxing few days. Sutton Hoo was the highlight for us, should not be missed. We re-visited Southwold and Walberswick, and super fish and chips at Aldeburgh! Off now to collect plants from Suffolk Plant Centre. Thanks for everything.

Had a lovely short stay here – grandchildren visited us here and are begging us to book again so that they can stay too. Drove out to the Fox’s Inn at Newbourne, great for dogs and humans, and good service. Walks along the river (both ways) are beautiful. Really don’t want to face the reality of the outside world again – this has truly been an escape for the weekend.

Boris our dog had a wonderful time and catered for extremely well, especially the treats! Breakfast supplies were very much appreciated too. The barge is so cosy and comfortable! The breakfast basket was a lovely touch - thank you. Enjoyed exploring Woodbridge - everything on our doorstep - shops, pubs and good restaurants.

A quiet and peaceful place for a rest! The ‘extras’ are superb and very generous. Love the hot tub, perfect to ease the muscle and back pain. Stonham Barns for its small shops and Sunday morning Car Boot worth a look.
