Doing our little bit for local Suffolk charities here at Woodfarm
I’m certainly not the world’s biggest philanthropist, nor do I pretend to be the Bill Gates or Richard Branson of Suffolk, but my business has enabled me to do my own little bit for a couple of great local charities, as well as another fairly local one and I’m pretty chuffed with that.
My musical interests have given me some links with two fabulous Suffolk causes – the superb Suffolk music festival ‘Leestock’ and also Suffolk Family Carers, based just four miles from Woodfarm.
2014 saw my second appearance on the Leestock stage, as well as the release of the charity CD I put together with the help of loads of amazing Suffolk musician friends, with all the money going to Suffolk Family Carers.
From a business perspective I was proud to be the sponsor of the Leestock programmes in 2014 and look forward to working with them in the future. I also gave away a couple of free breaks here at Woodfarm to Suffolk Family Carers for their 8 days a week appeal with the BBC, where we recorded our CD. They raffled and auctioned the prizes to raise much-needed funds.
I’m really pleased to be able to provide feedback from the first winner Helen, who stayed with us in November 2014 and absolutely loved it. This is what Helen wrote in our guest book:
“24th-28th November 2014, Orwell Barn
Typical Autumn weather; damp and foggy, which only made my stay more magical. Excellent accommodation, with extra special touches like the breakfast basket and a woodburning stove to make my holiday cosy.
As I live in Suffolk already I know many of the beauty spots anyway, but I didn’t know of Woodfarm Barns until now! 🙂
I can certainly recommend a vacation here at any time of the year. Sending Woodfarm postcards to my friends saying “Wish you were here” and telling them they can expect a warm welcome in very well-presented barns and lovely landscaped surroundings, including hooting owls at dusk.
Thank you Carl.
Helen Havers”
I’m so pleased Helen enjoyed her break and it’s so nice that it contributed to raising money for a great cause.
We actively do as much as we can for these three great local charities, including Suffolk Family Carers. Have a look at more details of the other two on our charity page.
