This is what I said…

Discover the Charm of Laurel Farm Garden Centre Near Woodfarm

If you’re staying with us at Woodfarm, you’re in for a treat. Just 20 minutes away on the west side of Ipswich, you’ll find the fabulous Laurel Farm Garden Centre. This isn’t just any garden centre – it’s a destination with something for everyone. Whether you’re a gardening enthusiast or just looking for a lovely day out, Laurel Farm has plenty to offer.

More Than Just a Garden Centre

While the main attraction at Laurel Farm is, of course, the garden centre, there’s so much more to explore. As you arrive, you’ll be greeted by a delightful fruit and veg supplier right outside the entrance. We source a fair bit of the produce for our breakfast baskets at Woodfarm from here, and it’s all lovely local produce – perfect for starting your day off right.

A Gardener’s Paradise

Inside the garden centre, you’ll find everything you could possibly need for your garden. From lawn care to tools, pots, plants, and even pet food, Laurel Farm has it all. There’s also a farm shop section for those who want to pick up a few local goodies.

While I’m not much of a gardener myself (in fact, I’m more of a plant killer), I do appreciate the wide range of wild bird care products they offer. If you’re more green-thumbed than I am, you’ll love browsing the selection here during your stay.

Relax at the Cafe

Laurel Farm also boasts a charming cafe with outdoor seating – perfect for a leisurely lunch or afternoon tea. Everything is freshly prepared on-site, including homemade cakes, teas, and coffees. It’s a wonderful spot to take a break and enjoy the surroundings.

Antique Treasures at Clara Bowe

One of my favourite places at Laurel Farm is Clara Bowe, a vast antiques shop filled with unique finds. Over the years, I’ve bought many items from here for Woodfarm HQ, the Barges, and even Woodfarm Tuscany. Whether you’re looking for vintage clothing, jewellery, pottery, or furniture, Clara Bowe is like an Aladdin’s cave – there’s always something new to discover. Check out our blog on where we sourced our furnishings for Tuscany, which features them heavily!

I’ve found some real gems here, including a beautiful walnut hanging space for the bedroom, a French butcher’s table now gracing The Terrace at Woodfarm Tuscany, and a gorgeous oak dining table that fits perfectly into the dining room. Each piece adds to the old-world charm we’re so passionate about at Woodfarm.

Don’t Miss the Florist

Before you leave, make sure to visit the florist at Laurel Farm. It’s the perfect place to pick up some fresh flowers to brighten your Cottage, Barn, or Barge during your stay.
