Holiday Cottage in Suffolk with a FREE lunch!

Yes, there really is such a thing as a free lunch. Well, with Woodfarm Barns there is anyway!

Simply book a four-night midweek break any time in April or May 2016 and we’ll treat you to lunch at The Deli at the Chilli Farm, just up the road. So you can have a lovely free lunch with your holiday cottage in Suffolk.

If you haven’t tried the Deli then you’re in for a treat. It is run by our friend Kate and they offer a fabulous range of amazing Suffolk foodie stuff, as well as a great range of drinks too. You can pick up all sorts of fabulous foodie treats from the Deli counter, with everything from olives and hummus to a superb range of local cheeses, meats and fish, as well as home-made Suffolk pies, tarts, etc. A great deal of the produce you can pick up at the Deli has won awards so its well worth treating yourself whilst you’re here and bring it back to eat in your cottage. Like this….

There’s a huge range of other products from local pickles, chutneys, mayos, sauces etc, as well as a great selection of wines, beers and spirits; again, with lots of local produce from such suppliers as Adnams, Aspalls and Calvors.

You could spend ages in the Deli deciding what to treat yourself to and so many of our guests have done so over the years. They do a wonderful range of home-made cakes and I remember one couple going back to pick up 18 of their ‘life-changing chocolate brownies’ to take home for family and friends (that’s what they said anyway!).

Kate supplies our Deli Hampers and has done for many years and they always go down well.

The lunch will consist of one of their artisan soft drinks from Fentimans or Folkingtons, or a delicious tea, coffee or hot chocolate, a main meal (excluding breakfast); there’s a few examples below and some yummy home-made cake to finish it all off!

So what do they have to offer at the Deli at the Chilli Farm? These are just some of the goodies you could be tucking into:

Drinks

A range of teas including Suffolk special blend, all the coffees you could wish for, from espresso to macchiato, latte and mocha and everything in between. Fabulous ‘Gnaw’ drinking chocolate sticks from Norfolk (well, its still local!) and a range of wonderful artisan soft drinks from Fentimans and Folkingtons, from rose lemonade to Seville orange and mandarin jigger, from pressed apple juice to old fashioned elderflower.

Lunches

The Deli does an amazing range of proper sandwiches made to order, on thick sliced white or granary bread, all served with dressed leaves and Corkers crisps. Here’s just a few to tempt you:

Suffolk ham and homemade coleslaw, Pinneys (Orford in Suffok) smoked salmon and cream cheese, goats cheese and Stokes red onion marmalade, or a good old fashioned smoked Suffolk back bacon or sausage sarnie.

As well as that lovely lot you could treat yourself to one of their wonderful Deli or cheese boards, which vary according to what’s good right now, or a seasonal soup served with rustic bread and butter.

To round it off

If you still have room then you can have one of their delicious homemade fruit scones with butter and Stokes strawberry jam, or a cheese, chilli and onion scone, which are my personal favourite! They also have a range of homemade cakes including their ‘life-changing chocolate brownie’ that I mentioned earlier and and their ‘remarkable carrot cake’. I can vouch for them both being just as described.
