This beautifully converted grain barn, dating back over 300 years is our original romantic cottage for couples. Huge enclosed garden and wonderful oak feature window with breath-taking farmland views.
Exposed original oak beams throughout and a winding, handmade timber staircase; the Granary is full of old-world charm. Adorned with antiques, yet combined with all the modern comforts you could wish for.

You enter The Granary Barn through a stable door into an open lounge/ diner with a farmhouse galley kitchen, which also has a door leading to the huge enlcosed garden. In the finer weather you can open up the stable door for a lovely airy start to the day.The flooring on the ground floor is beautifully opulent natural slate The fully equipped kitchen is well laid out with ample work surface, fitted cooker with ceramic hob , belfast sink, microwave and fridge, kettle and four slice toaster.
The Granary also features a fabulous Nespresso coffee machine with coffee capsules, adding that little extra luxurious touch in your holiday cottage
The living area features an old circular painted dining table, big comfy, squishy sofa and a lovely old armchair, cosy log burning fire and smart TV.
The Granary has exposed oak beams through and beautiful, winding, hand-made timber staircase that leads up to a the breath-taking bedroom with its triangular oak feature window wall with stunning views across the farmland opposite. The bedroom has an iron ‘bedknobs & broomsticks’ style double bed (please be aware though that it doesn’t take off!) and handmade chandeliers from a local forge. The iron wall lights throught are all made by the same forge.
There is a well organised en-suite shower room with a powerful fixed rose ‘watering can’ style shower, loo and hand basin with luxury hand soap.
Because of the enclosed garden and slate floor, we are happy to accept pets in all our barn holiday cottages.We normally accept up to three dogs. We even leave a dog treat as well as a delicious local breakfast basket for the humans!
We also have a huge fully secure two acre meadow for our four-legged guests to run around and play with each other, along with seating for the two-legged guests to chat as well! There’s a smaller section inside for nervous or older dogs to exercise on their own.
Outside you have a huge, fully enclosed private garden laid mainly to lawn, with a patio and BBQ with table and chairs for Al Fresco dining.
There is ample off road parking in front of the Granary.
All our luxuriously appointed barns vary in price according to size, position, equipment etc so represent great value, as well as having something to suit everyones taste and budget! The Granary is very definitely our premier barn because of its history and charm; if you’re looking for a truly luxurious holiday cottage in Suffolk then you’ve found it.
The other barns nestle into the mature trees adjacent to the Granary, around the pond and water feature to create a peaceful little environment to relax in and there is also lovely communal decked area overlooking the pond for when you feel sociable or just want to enjoy the sunset.
The Granary Barn is down a pretty country lane just outside the little Suffolk village of Stonham Aspal. There are lovely walks and cycling straight from the Barns and the pretty Suffolk Coast is just 30 minutes away. Bikes are also available FREE of charge!

Such a great cottage for dogs and their owners. The dog field was great and Charlie couldn’t wait to go there and he loved the walk along to the pretty Church. The breakfast basket was amazing, bacon was good! Suffolk is such a dog friendly place. We loved the coffee at Honey & Harvey in Woodbridge, most shops welcomed our dog and there are masses of fabulous walks. We enjoyed Woodbridge, Aldeburgh, Orford and Dunwich Heath. We hope to be back as there is so much more of Suffolk to see!
Enjoyed Southwold with fish and chips in the sunshine! Visits to The Victoria at Earl Soham and the Crown at Stowupland pubs.
Really good dog walks and made good use of the hot tub every night!
We’ve had a lovely four days with all our needs met. A lovely base to see family locally.
A last minute booking, but what an amazing peaceful stay. Libby loved the meadow and all her treats. We enjoyed eating out at the Crown and Four Horseshoes and went to the pub with no bar which was a fantastic experience. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Simply stunning, and so much attention to detail, catering for everyone’s needs including our doggies! I felt so chilled with the peace of this beautiful Barn. Secure garden where I could feel relaxed that Dexter my dog was safe.
A last minute booking and loved the stay – will certainly be back. The barn is ideal, clean, welcoming and plenty of space. My dog loved the garden and the dog field. Visited lots of lovey places – Dunwich, Sutton Hoo, Orford, Framlingham Castle, Aldeburgh and Thorpeness.

This is our first stay and we have had a lovely couple of days. Very impressed with this property, comfortable and warm.
Perfect location for multi-trips to seafront on the east coast and Constable country. The accommodation was very comfortable and our two springers loved the underfloor heating, secure garden and a two acre paddock. Open roads, few hedges, warm people. A visit to Shotley Gate to take in Harwich and container loading at Felixstowe. Visit The Highwayman and support Olga from Ukraine.
We loved the Barn, so comfy and welcoming. Our spaniel loved sniffing around the garden! We had a beach trip to Aldeburgh and a forest trip to Rendlesham. Framlingham Castle was very dog friendly and Rollo had a great time walking the wall walk!

The Granary has been a slice of heaven! So full of character, cosy and warm. A favourite visit to Southwold and fantastic Sunday roast at The Peacock Inn in Chelsworth. Felt so much better for rest and relaxation.

Having been here before we knew what to expect. Lovely Barn with high standards and a good sized garden.
The Granary is a lovely bolthole with an enclosed garden. We spent the week finding beaches – loved Aldeburgh, and Dunwich; farm shops and butchers. We loved the Cretingham Bell pub.
We enjoyed our stay here. Benji loved the dog meadow and it was great that the garden was enclosed. We enjoyed exploring Snape Maltings, Aldeburgh, Thorpeness and Orford.
The comforting feeling that envelopes you when you first enter the Granary is amazing. We enjoyed the birdsong and watching the wildlife in the garden. Southwold and Felixstowe are beautiful places to visit.

Back for our 4th visit and very nice it was too! Visited many of our old haunts including Southwold, discovered a really rather good café in Abbeygate Street, Bury St Edmunds and Honey and Harvey in Woodbridge. Dined once again at the Crown at Stowupland and The White Horse at Badingham – very dog friendly, with the food good too!

A wonderful stay at the Granary for our sister’s 50 th . We hired the whole place as a family so it has been like a luxurious second home. Sad to be leaving, such a wonderful place. Many happy memories made to treasure forever.
