Car Hire Tips for Your Stay at Casa Trebbio
Hello, it’s Carl, and in this blog post, I’ll answer a frequently asked question from our guests at Casa Trebbio: “Do we arrange car hire for you?” The short answer is no, we don’t arrange car hire directly, but I’ve got plenty of useful tips to help you arrange a car yourself for your stay at our holiday home just outside Lucca.
Booking a Car with Your Flight
When booking flights, I usually fly from Stansted to Pisa. At the end of the flight booking process, you’ll often see an option to book car hire as well. I’ve found that it’s often cheaper to book car hire through Ryanair when you do it at this stage. However, I would still suggest doing a bit of research beforehand. Compare prices for your travel dates, so you have a reference point when looking at Ryanair’s car hire offers.
Recommended Car Hire Sites
Two excellent websites to check are Auto Europe and Europcar. These platforms will give you a wide range of options, allowing you to compare prices and find the best deals.
Car Hire Options at Pisa Airport
My personal preference is to hire a car directly from the Car Hire Centre at Pisa Airport. While there are some cheaper options, these are often located outside the airport, requiring you to wait for a shuttle bus. If you go with the Car Hire Centre, it’s just a 10-minute walk from the terminal, or you can take their regular shuttle bus. I find this far more convenient than waiting for a shuttle to a more distant location.
Companies I’ve Used
A car hire company I’ve used several times is Sicily by Car. They are a reliable option, although I’ve noticed their prices are starting to increase. For my most recent trip, I tried a company called OK Mobility, and they worked out fine too. The Car Hire Centre at Pisa Airport has over a dozen options to choose from, so you’ll be sure to find something that suits your needs.
