Are your Barns & Cottages private?

This blog post introduces you to a video that I shot to answer the common question of Are your Barns & Cottages private?. It’s also part of our You Ask, We Answer series, where we answer tons of FAQs and give you lots of information to help you get the most out of Suffolk.

At Woodfarm Barns & Barges, we understand that planning the perfect getaway involves many questions and uncertainties. To help you navigate through these and to ensure you have the best experience possible, we’ve launched our ‘You Ask, We Answer’ initiative. This approach isn’t just about promoting our Barns, Cottages and Barges; it’s about providing valuable information, solutions, and peace of mind to our prospective guests.

Anyway, this is the video, and the transcript is below it if you wish to go back over anything.

This is what I said…

Are the Barns and Cottages at Woodfarm Private?

Hello, it’s Carl, and in this blog post, I’ll be answering a common question we receive: Are the Barns and Cottages at Woodfarm private? The simple answer is yes, they absolutely are. All of our properties feature private gardens, providing a serene and secluded environment for your stay.

A Tour of the Grounds

Let me take you on a little tour of the outside areas to showcase just how private our properties are. As you step outside, you’ll immediately notice the mature planting and hedging that surrounds the entire site. These mature trees were already here when we started, but most of the greenery around the Barns and Cottages has been planted by us, with much of it dating back to around 2010 or 2011.

Starting at Deben Barn and moving towards Gipping Barn, you can see the careful planting that breaks up the sightlines, creating natural screens and enhancing the sense of privacy. From here, with my back to Gipping Barn, I panned around to catch a glimpse of Stour Barn, and then moved past the tranquil waterfall over to Orwell Barn.

One of the key features contributing to the privacy of these spaces is the thoughtful placement of trees in the centre of the site. This natural barrier ensures that each Barn and Cottage is shielded from view, making it easy for guests to relax in their own secluded space.

Exploring the Gardens

Continuing the tour, I headed towards the garden of Orwell Barn. As I walked, I passed Alde Barn on the right, giving you a sense of the mature hedging and planting that separates the properties. This has all been designed with privacy in mind, ensuring that each guest enjoys their own personal space.

Next, I moved on to The Granary, Meadow View Cottage, and Woodfarm House. The garden of The Granary Barn is accessed through a private front gate, and Meadow View Cottage stands alone, offering a very secluded experience. Woodfarm House, meanwhile, is completely surrounded by close-board fencing, providing total privacy for its guests.

Our Commitment to Privacy

We’ve gone to great lengths to ensure that all of our Barns, Cottages, and Woodfarm House are as private as possible. We designed these spaces with the same level of care and attention to detail that I would want if I were staying here myself. Your privacy and comfort are our top priorities.
