Are you an independent business?
This blog post introduces you to a video that I shot to answer the common question of “Are you an independent business?”. It’s part of our series of ‘You Ask, We Answer’ videos and blogs. They cover loads of our FAQ’s, or Frequently Asked Questions, but with a (we hope) really helpful deeper dive.
At Woodfarm Barns & Barges, we understand that planning the perfect getaway involves many questions and uncertainties. To help you navigate through these and to ensure you have the best experience possible, we’ve launched our ‘You Ask, We Answer’ initiative. This approach isn’t just about promoting our Barns, Cottages and Barges; it’s about providing valuable information, solutions, and peace of mind to our prospective guests.
Anyway, this is the video, and the transcript is below it if you wish to go back over anything.
This is what I said…
Ownership of Woodfarm Barns and Barges
Hello, it’s Carl, and this video is all about Woodfarm and the ownership thereof. I want to clarify that Woodfarm Barns and Barges is entirely owned by me, with some parts owned by my daughter. Effectively, I own and run Woodfarm Barns and Barges. We often get asked whether or not it’s part of a large chain, and the answer is simply no, it isn’t.
When you get in touch with us, 99 times out of 100, you’ll get hold of me. I can answer any questions you have and will do so as quickly as I possibly can. I started the business in 2009. It began with Woodfarm House, where I’m sat right now. We then had The Granary Barn and gradually developed the other Barns and then Meadow View Cottage.
Way before COVID, we started our Barges. I was buying Onderneming and then I bought Twee Gebroeders a fortnight later. Woodfarm Tuscany began its process of buying in 2018, was renovating in 2019, and then something happened in 2020 to stop it all for a few years. I didn’t go over there for three years, but eventually finished it off, and now it’s up and running as well.
So, Woodfarm is owned entirely by me and parts of my family, namely my daughter. It is not part of a large chain, so you can deal directly with a small, independent business.
