A Guide to Suffolk’s Newest Attractions
Much as we like to shed light on all of the great things which have been taking place in Suffolk for many years, we’re also fond of shiny new things. Whether it’s a new music festival, an exciting bar or restaurant opening up in town, or an altogether new experience available for our guests to enjoy, we like to use our blogs to recommend the latest things to do when staying at one of our Barns or Barges for rent in Suffolk. It is with this in mind that we’re sharing some of our personal recommendations for the newest attractions available to our guests staying in 2024.
Over in Saxmundham, the recently launched Suffolk Escape Rooms bring a variety of highly detailed rooms for couples to navigate their way out of. All featuring a distinctive theme, this new attraction brings together everything that makes escape rooms great, then makes them even greater by adding even more twists and turns. Sure to keep you guessing as well as entertained, we’re confident the destination will become something of an enduring Suffolk classic.
Though some have launched over the past couple of years, we can also confidently recommend a series of new restaurants in Ipswich. After all, there are few better ways of spending a holiday than by enjoying a range of interesting cuisines. Amongst the many exciting new names, the Botanist certainly caused a fair amount of fanfare following its recent opening. A distinctly modern offering, this location is the place to go for cocktails and long lunches. For those with a more Mediterranean palate, the newly launched Brother’s Bar, run by, you guessed it, two brothers, serves up an impressive selection of fresh seafood that’s tough to resist.
In terms of entertainment, the latest must-see show is the Ipswich Theatre’s production of the 70’s classic, Grease. Already receiving rave reviews, performances of the musical are set to take place across late May and promise plenty of “glamour and grit”, if that’s your sort of thing.
The nearby Haughley Park is also set to host the Weird and Wonderful Wood on Saturday 11th May to Sunday 12th. Bringing together over 100 carefully selected artisans, this event is all but unmissable for those who are keen to bring home a piece of art or sculpture from their time away. With workshops and demonstrations also part of the schedule, we’re confident that this year’s event will cement the event’s reputation as one of the defining moments in the Suffolk calendar.
If any or all of these new attractions sound like something you’d like to enjoy as part of your holiday in Suffolk, be sure to take a look at the current availability of our Barns and Barges for rent. Equipped with private hot tubs and gardens, as well as well-appointed bedrooms and comfortable furnishings, we’re convinced they make for the best home away from home. Did we mention that all of our accommodation is dog-friendly, too? We wouldn’t want any pooch to miss out on the latest and greatest that Suffolk has to offer, after all…
