Suffolk Summer holiday at Woodfarm Barns
Summer is undoubtedly our busiest time as we welcome guests to our holiday cottages for a luxury self-catering break in Suffolk. We do try to encourage guests to book their holiday or short-break in advance as we do invariably have to say no when all the cottages are booked. I wish I could grow more sometimes!
There’s something for everyone at our holiday cottages and Suffolk in general, whatever the weather but Summer itself has a real magic to it.
Situated in the heart of rural Suffolk, our holiday cottages all have a light and airy feel to them with the doors open on a Summers day and you can usually hear the birds singing. I’m writing this in the middle of Spring and I can hear them all around me.
If you want to just sit back and enjoy your holiday cottage in the sunshine then we supply picnic blankets and baskets with every cottage during the Summer months so you don’t need to go anywhere if you don’t want to.
Venturing out, you have a number of recognised walks within easy reach of your holiday cottage, including a great one straight out of here to Crowfield Church next door but one, and beyond, with public footpaths across the fields from our lane.
We have a shed packed with bikes and you can see the OS map for the area on the wall here too, so you can just take a bike out and go and explore the lanes around us on a sunny afternoon.
We are fortunate to be surrounded by lots of farmland, wild hedgerows and clear skies and Summer is a great time to explore and appreciate the simple things in life. It’s usually only when we are on holiday that we get to do that.
Further afield you have so many lovely beaches, historic villages & towns, castles, museums and places of interest, as well as lots do with Summer activities all around Suffolk, whether it’s a romantic holiday cottage break for the two of you, or a family holiday.
There are 46 designated ‘Areas of outstanding natural beauty’ in the UK and we have two of them right on our doorstep; perfect for a Summer outing from your holiday cottage. Suffolk coast & heaths and Dedham Vale are only half an hour from our cottages.
For families there is a great website called ‘Day out with the kids’, which has a page specifically for Suffolk, full of plenty of ideas to keep them occupied so if you are coming to stay at our large thatched farmhouse for your Summer holiday then check it out as there are lots of things to do near here.
And don’t forget we have our own tourist guide to Suffolk called ‘Where Do We?…’ which is packed full of ideas for places to go all year round.
Defined by the Met Office Summer is June, July and August and we have holiday cottage breaks starting from just £240 for a two night weekend in Summer 2016. You can check all our availability and prices on this website and we hope to be welcoming you here this Summer.
