The 39th annual Woolpit festival features a terrific mix of entertainment this year, including Jacqui Dankworth, Rainer Hersch, The Beatles-Live and folk music from Sound Tradition and Ellie Jamison.

An awesome Volkswagen festival run by Suffolk Bugrs VW club, in its sixth year. Buxhall Flower Festival 6-8 June
Glorious Buxhall church stands like a beacon on the hill in our lovely village nestled in the Mid-Suffolk countryside outside Stowmarket. Come and visit us between 6th and 8th June to see over 20 floral displays in our Summer Flower Festival on the theme of “All Things Bright and Beautiful”.
As well as beautiful arrangements created by amateur and professional florists in the local community, there will be tea and cakes in the marquee, a raffle, and on Friday 6th, a Preview Evening with musical entertainment from the Tudor Rose Singers. What better way to while away a summer’s evening?
Preview Evening tickets cost £6.50 including refreshments from lucy.fisher@suffolkfieldfayre.com / 01449 737867, and entrance to the Festival on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th costs £2.50 for adults and £1 for children on the door. All proceeds to the fabric fund of St Mary’s Buxhall.
The Festival is open 10am-4pm, but you are always welcome to visit our historic church. To top it all, why not stay on for the traditional Buxhall Flower Service at 4pm on Sunday 8th? We look forward to welcoming you.

Barton Mills Scarecrow Festival 7-8 June
A fabulous time is to be had by all as you wander around the village looking at the large variety of scarecrows on display. An antique car display, cream teas and a Gruffalo trail plus stalls and a BBQ all add up to a great day out. For more details please see: What’s On Suffolk

67th Aldeburgh Music Festival, 13-29 June
Aldeburgh Festival is now one of Europe’s leading music festivals. This year the centrepiece is a rare new production of Britten’s pacifist opera, Owen Wingrave, a screening of the original BBC TV production which was filmed at Snape in 1970, and a Study Day.

Southwold Arts Festival, 28 June-5 July
This year Southwold will be holding its first ever Arts Festival. It will be a week-long celebration of the Arts including music, theatre, poetry, visual arts, photography, film, family events, talks, discussions and literature. There will be something for everyone.
PettaFiesta, Stowmarket, 4-6 July

Pettafiesta is a small independent occasional arts festival held in a beautiful garden setting in Pettaugh. With two music stages plus film, spoken word, comedy, theatre and lots of audience participation there is plenty to keep everyone entertained.
Weekend Tickets – £40 for Adults (17 and over), £20 for 16 and under or £100 for a family ticket (covering 2 x adults and up to 3 x 16s and under).

Beer Festival, Cherry Tree Inn, Woodbridge, 4-6 July
Sample the delights of over 25 British real ales including the delightfully named Dancing Duck and Southwolds Adnams. The festival will run 10:30am-11.00pm. Hot and cold food will be available 12:00pm-9.00pm Friday and Saturday and 12:00pm-8.30pm on Sunday. Free admission.

Latitude 2014, 17 – 20 July
Tickets for the ninth multi-arts festival, taking place at Suffolk’s Henham Park from Thursday, July 17 to Sunday, July 20, are now on sale.

Latitude is more than just a music festival; it’s an award-winning event now in its 9th Year.
The recently announced lineup includes the talented British musician Damon Albarn who will make an exclusive festival appearance following the release of his hotly anticipated solo album ‘Everyday Robots’ in April 2014. Headlining the Obelisk Arena on Friday will be indie rockers Editors, returning at the request of the festival’s audience! Also appearing at Latitude will be Dara O’Briain and Kevin Bridges as well as many more acts from the worlds of Comedy, Theatre, Literature and Cabaret.

Westleton Wildflower Festival Plus Village Life Exhibition, 25-28 July
10 am to 6 pm each day (5pm Monday)
Westleton Flower Show
The wildflower festival in the church has been held for nearly fifty years. A theme is chosen for each event, and this year’s theme is “Poets of The Great War”. There are a series of displays in The Village Hall showing activities in the Village and its surrounds, with different artisans displaying their skills each of the four days of the event.
The Westleton Gardeners offer a very wide range of garden plants for sale at their display stand in the Village Hall at very reasonable prices.
There will be homemade refreshments on sale throughout each day in the Village Hall and also a GRAND DRAW!
Entry is free, but donations (split between the Church and Village Hall) are most welcome.

A small Suffolk village festival featuring artists of international standing and also some stars of the future, world music, folk music, jazz, classical music, animation workshop for children, flute master class, literary lunch.

FolkEast Festival at Glemham Hall, 15-17 August
Within the stately grounds of Glemham Hall, celebrate the very best in folk, roots and acoustic music. There will be a mobile cinema, music and art workshops plus excellent locally sourced food and drink on offer within the Imagined Suffolk Food Village.

Fressingfield Music Festival, 23-27 September
The Parish Church of St Peter and St Paul
As the Fressingfield Music Festival celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, music lovers can anticipate five nights of wide-ranging, world-class classical and jazz performances at excellent value for money. Held from 23 to 27 September, the Festival’s reputation for high-quality music draws audiences from far afield. This year promises another vibrant programme, including classical violinist Tasmin Little, concert pianist Meng Yang Pan, the Choir of Norwich Cathedral, world-renowned jazz musician Brian Dee, and Baroque ensemble Badinage.

The Aldeburgh Food & Drink Festival is a two-week celebration of the abundance of good local food and drink to be found in East Suffolk.
