The BBC are on their way!
It’s just been announced that BBC’s Naturewatch programme is going to be based at nearby Minsmere Nature Reserve for the forthcoming series!
This is great news for Suffolk Tourism as a whole and certainly great news for us as we are based on the A1120 Suffolk Tourist Route, linking much of the country to Minsmere!
Former presenter Bill Oddie is coming back as a special guest, and will be looking back at the UK’s wildlife to see how it’s been doing over the past decade. He said that being involved with Springwatch was one of the most thrilling and satisfying periods of his life.
Minsmere is a firm favourite with all our rambling holidaymakers. We are very fortunate to be based right in the heart of the county so that everything is a maximum of half an hour or so away, whether it’s the fabulous heritage coast, including Minsmere, or the beautiful medieval villages further inland, we are in the middle of nowhere and the middle of everywhere!
This is undoubtedly going to be a huge bonus for Suffolk Tourism and being based along the Suffolk Tourist Route, we are delighted about the news and look forward to welcoming even more people looking for a short break or holiday in Suffolk! We’ve always had lots of guests heading out to Minsmere and Dunwich but increased publicity can’t be a bad thing.
Full details of the programme, which will be viewed by millions, can be seen here on the BBC website.
