What’s On in Suffolk: 2025’s Can’t-Miss Events
Featuring a social calendar that would make Jane Austen blush, the events taking place throughout the year in Suffolk treat visitors to every kind of experience they could possibly be looking for. Whilst official dates are yet to be firmed up, we’ve rounded up a list of events that visitors to our Barns and Barges for rent in Suffolk can look forward to in 2025.
Aldeburgh Festival
Founded many moons ago by the legendary composer Benjamin Britten, the Aldeburgh Festival is a cornerstone of Suffolk’s cultural calendar. Held at the iconic Snape Maltings, this celebration of classical music attracts world-renowned performers alongside emerging talent. In 2025, the programme will no doubt feature a mix of innovative new compositions and timeless masterpieces, making it a must for music lovers.
Suffolk Show
The Suffolk Show is a quintessential celebration of the county’s agricultural heritage and rural life. Taking place at Trinity Park near Ipswich, this two-day event offers everything from livestock displays and equestrian competitions to food stalls and stands which showcase the finest local produce. With plenty to get stuck into – think: live music and artisan crafts – it’s an event that truly captures the spirit of Suffolk.
Latitude Festival
Suffolk’s answer to Glastonbury, the Latitude Festival in Henham Park is the very definition of a cultural extravaganza, blending music, theatre, comedy, and art. Known for its multi-genre line-ups and whimsical setting, and happily complete with painted sheep and glowing lakes, Latitude 2025 promises headline acts from the world of rock, pop, and indie. The festival also features wellness workshops and thought-provoking talks. If we’re being honest, we think it might just be that little bit better than Glastonbury.
Felixstowe Book Festival
Bookworms rejoice! The Felixstowe Book Festival is set to return in 2025 with a stellar line-up of authors, poets, and literary experts from all works of the library. Set against the charming backdrop of Suffolk’s coastal town, the festival includes author readings, workshops, and panel discussions. Really, it’s the perfect opportunity to meet your favourite writers and discover new ones.
Halesworth Arts Festival
For ten days in October, Halesworth becomes the cultural heart of Suffolk. The Halesworth Arts Festival showcases a diverse array of performances, including theatre, live music, comedy, and dance. Its intimate venues create a cosy yet vibrant atmosphere, offering something for everyone.
Southwold Arts Festival
In the summertime, it would be fair to say that one of our favourite seaside towns comes alive with the Southwold Arts Festival. From outdoor concerts and poetry readings to art exhibitions and family workshops, the festival highlights the creative spirit of Suffolk’s coastal communities. Don’t miss the parade that kicks off the celebrations in true Southwold style, it’s a real treat!
Framlingham Sausage Festival
We had to save the best and most intriguing to last. Foodies certainly won’t want to miss this quirky celebration of all things sausage. The Framlingham Sausage Festival showcases Suffolk’s best butchers and food producers, with tastings, cooking demonstrations, and a lively street market. It’s a fun and delicious way to explore local culinary traditions.
