The Stunning Views from Casa Trebbio in Tuscany
Hello, it’s Carl, and today I want to share the stunning views from Casa Trebbio, our holiday home in Tuscany. Located just outside Lucca, this place offers breathtaking panoramas that our guests can’t stop raving about in their reviews.
An Overview of Casa Trebbio
Right now, I’m on the Terrace of Casa Trebbio, and behind me, you can see the beautiful landscape. This is the view to the south, and over those hills, you can spot Lucca. The views to the north and east are just as stunning. The sun rises from the east, crosses the sky throughout the day, and sets in the west, casting golden light over the hills.
The Terrace is one of the house’s standout features. It’s the perfect spot to relax, whether you’re reading a book, having a meal, or simply enjoying a cold beer. Although the house itself is beautiful, the Terrace brings it to life, making it a magical place to unwind.
A Photographer’s Dream
I’m going to start off by sharing a few photos from our brilliant photographer Carl. In these pictures, you’ll see Casa Trebbio standing proudly on the hillside. The white house contrasts beautifully with the greenery, and the views over to Lucca are simply breathtaking.
From another angle, you can see the Terrace and the landscape stretching toward the mountains. For me, the Terrace really defines this house – it’s where you can soak in everything that Tuscany has to offer.
Morning Light and Ancient Churches
The east-facing views from the Terrace are a morning spectacle. On sunny days, you’ll spot a picturesque little church just opposite us. While I don’t own it, I’ve always admired it. Another of Carl’s photos captures this area beautifully, with soft morning light filtering through the landscape.
Tuscany’s charm often includes atmospheric clouds, which add an almost mystical element to the views. One of my favourite moments was when I took a photo in September that perfectly represented the Italian flag, with red, white, and green hues adorning the scenery.
Views from Inside Casa Trebbio
Let me take you inside Casa Trebbio, where you can continue enjoying the views from various rooms. The dining room offers the same panoramic vista as the Terrace. The bedroom also faces east, where you can see the quaint church and hills. In the mornings, you’ll catch the sunlight pouring through the windows, lighting up the entire space.
Though the garden below is still in development, it will soon complement the Terrace with its own cosy charm. You’ll also notice several other churches dotting the horizon when you stand on the Terrace – there are about six or seven within view, scattered around us.
Views Towards Lucca and Beyond
Now, let’s move toward the west, where the sun sets over Lucca and the mountains beyond. From the lounge, you get a clear view of Lucca in the distance. The nearby Ghirlanda valley stretches north toward the Apennine Alps, with our house nestled right at the start of this beautiful valley.
The house sits about two-thirds of the way up the hill, offering uninterrupted views across the landscape. At night, the lights of Lucca sparkle in the distance, creating a peaceful and enchanting atmosphere.
A Bath with a View
One of my favourite touches in Casa Trebbio is the bath with a view. I was determined to put the bath in a spot where you could relax and gaze out towards Lucca. It’s the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring Tuscany.
Why I Bought Casa Trebbio
Ultimately, the reason I bought Casa Trebbio was simple – the views. They are unparalleled, and it’s what drew me to this house in the first place. Though the house needed some serious TLC, we’ve managed to transform it into a lovely, comfortable space. But really, it’s all about those views. The Terrace and the landscape make this house truly special.
