Woodfarm are proud supporters of the Willow Foundation
The Willow Foundation is a national charity that provides special days out for seriously ill 16-40-year-olds. Every special day aims to provide beneficiaries and their loved ones with a break from the realities of their diagnosis and treatment. At a time of uncertainty, spending quality time with family and friends can help restore a sense of normality, boost confidence and create precious memories for the future.
Our involvement started with getting on board with the amazing local music festival Leestock, which itself was set up in memory of local musician Lee Dunford, who lost his battle with Hodgkins Disease in 2006. I originally said I’d donate money if our guests were staying here and went to the festival. They soon latched on to that and came and crow-barred (nicely) some money out of us for sponsorship, which I was delighted and proud to do. Since then they’ve asked me to play at the festival, which I am absolutely over the moon about so I’m the opening act on Sunday 26th May!
Having looked into the charity further both myself and Grove Cottages decided to donate some breaks to the Willow Foundation so we look forward to being able to do our little bit this year.
If you read this and would like to help, then please get in touch with them directly. Maybe you’d like to buy some Leestock tickets and come and throw tomatoes at me (actually, just cheer me on, I’m gonna need it!). The festival promises some fantastic entertainment (I don’t mean me!) in the form of Toploader, Space, John Power from Cast and Mark Morriss from the Bluetones, as well as loads of awesome local talent (I’m a big fan of Benjamin Bloom).
