LeeStock Music Festival – 25th & 26th May 2013

A fabulous local music festival, held in honour of the memory of Lee Dunford, a budding musician from Sudbury who was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma at 17 and after 4.5 years he lost his battle. I never knew Lee but from what I hear he just carried on living life to the full, always smiling.

During that time Lee was lucky enough to be helped by the Willow Foundation, a charity set up to help seriously ill 16-40 year olds by providing them and their families with special days out. The festival was set up in Lee’s memory by his old mates, with all the proceeds going to the charity.

Woodfarm Barns and Grove Cottages are proud to be among the sponsors of this years festival, to be held in the grounds of the stunning Melford Hall in Long Melford. It’s such an amazing cause that we’ve also both given some breaks to the foundation for them to decide who to send to spend some time as our guests; I don’t think we’d be able to choose.

The festival this year looks set to be the biggest and best ever, with headliners Toploader topping the bill, with over two million album sales to their name and a string of top 20 hits both home and abroad. Their debut album, Onka’s Big Moka, has sold over one million units and spent over six months in the Top 5 of the UK Albums Chart. Their cover of King Harvest‘s song “Dancing in the Moonlight” became a global hit for the band. Their second album, Magic Hotel, reached number 3 in the UK Albums Chart.

Also on the bill are Space, who had a hit with “The female of the species”, and loads of other great acts, many of them local. Check out the LeeStock website for the highlights so far.

It promises to be a fantastic event so please buy tickets online and support this amazing cause. It’s only £30 for the whole weekend.

A huge thanks to Pete Keogh who I’ve been liaising with, who has a very charming manner with which to crow-bar money! I do owe him a pint though for mentioning us on the radio (now that’s a good deal!).

See you there 🙂
