SLEEPS 8 : Perfect for a group of friends or a larger family looking to take time out to reconnect. Whether that’s with a glass of wine on deck, a coffee in one of Snape Maltings’ coffee shops, a pub lunch just a minutes walk away, or a wander round the fabulous shops at the Maltings. She comfortably sleeps six in three double bedrooms but also has a comfy double sofa-bed and a kids’ den.
This enormous, magnificent Barge features many historic features, including all her original portholes. Two fully fitted galley kitchen / living / dining areas, and two bathrooms.
Our other Dutch Barge Twee Gebroeders in Woodridge is ideal for smaller families or a few friends. She sleeps four.
Whichever Barge you choose, you will experience wonderful river walks straight from your gangplank.
Accessibility
Please note that both our barges are on tidal rivers. This means that the gangplank angle and height change twice a day, making access to the barges unsuitable for the elderly or those with mobility issues.
Dog friendly
We welcome up to three dogs on board and we have a reputation for combining luxury, with a highly open, dog-friendly approach. The best of both worlds for you and your dogs. In case you’re worried, we do have Doggy life jackets on board.
She is moored on the River Alde at the iconic Snape Maltings, a stunning location near the beautiful Heritage Coast of Suffolk, with an incredibly popular, well-known, dog-friendly pub, as well as coffee shops, independent boutique shops and amazing river walks on either side of the river.

She also appeared in The Daily & Sunday Mail articles on unique floating holidays. Both Barges are moored on quays as opposed to offering sailing holidays; think of them as floating holiday cottages.

Built in 1899, she is almost 100ft in length and 18ft wide! She sleeps 6 comfortably in three double bedrooms but also has a double sofa-bed in the lower saloon. She has two bathrooms.
There are 2 large saloons (lounge & dining areas to you and I), with lots of seating and both have fully fitted kitchens so you can cook and chat in either! The upper saloon benefits from the beautiful river views and the lower saloon has a fabulous wood-burning stove for cosy evenings by the fire. You can also sit up on the deck with your morning coffee or watch the sun go down, it’s up to you. We can recommend both!
Onderneming is fully centrally heated at no extra cost. We also provide logs for your open fire.

Location
Onderneming is moored so this is not a sailing holiday. She is static but due to her size and weight you will not really feel her moving at all! You have two parking spaces adjacent to the Barge, and there is plenty of other parking too.
If you want to escape the real world for a bit, this is the perfect place to do it! An unparalleled mooring at Snape Maltings on the River Alde. Stunning river views one side and easy access to the very best retail therapy in Suffolk. Snape Maltings has a wonderful deli, pub, a choice of coffee shops, as well as homewares, giftwares, crafts and an amazing food hall. You have a breathtaking river walk on either side of the Alde, once you’ve finished in the pub. What more could you want?
Snape Maltings is a cultural ‘Mecca’ in Suffolk, within easy reach of Aldeburgh, Orford, Southwold and the rest of Suffolk’s beautiful Heritage Coast.

Out & About
If you do actually want more, then you have access to some of the best of the British coast, with historic Woodbridge, Orford and Aldeburgh within easy reach, or you could carry on up the coast a little to Dunwich, Walberswick and Southwold; all well worth a visit.
Onderneming is situated within the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is a designated Conservation Area. We have bikes available for you.
