Do you have Dog-Friendly beaches nearby

Do you have Dog-Friendly beaches near your Barns & Barges?

By

This blog post introduces you to a video that I shot to answer the common question of “Do you have Dog-Friendly beaches near your Barns & Barges?”. It’s part of our series of ‘You Ask, We Answer’ videos and blogs. They cover loads of our FAQ’s, or Frequently Asked Questions, but with a (we hope) really helpful deeper dive.

At Woodfarm Barns & Barges, we understand that planning the perfect getaway involves many questions and uncertainties. To help you navigate through these and to ensure you have the best experience possible, we’ve launched our ‘You Ask, We Answer’ initiative. This approach isn’t just about promoting our Barns, Cottages and Barges; it’s about providing valuable information, solutions, and peace of mind to our prospective guests.

We also have a guide to our favourite 8 dog friendly Suffolk beaches, which is likely to be of interest too.

Anyway, this is the video, and the transcript is below it if you wish to go back over anything.

This is what I said…

Dog-Friendly Beaches in Suffolk

Hello, for those who don’t know me, I’m Carl, and for those who do know me, I’m also Carl. I tend to be me quite a lot. Anyway, this blog post is all about dog-friendly beaches in Suffolk. We often get asked where they are and if we have any. The answer is yes, we do!

Our Locations and the Suffolk Coastline

Our barns are located in Stonham Aspal, and our barges are in Snape Maltings and Woodbridge. We are very fortunate to have a fantastic coastline all along this area. The general rule of thumb is that some beaches have restrictions and some don’t. There’s only one area where dogs are not welcome at all, which is Orford Ness, due to wildlife protection.

Dog-Friendly Beach Guide

We’ve got a dedicated page on our website with information on dog-friendly beaches. You can visit this page via the link in the description or by having a look here at our beach guide. Here’s a brief overview:

Beaches with No Restrictions

  1. Dunwich – A shingle beach.
  2. Southwold Pier – A mix of sand and shingle.
  3. Southwold Denes – Also a mix of sand and shingle.
  4. Walberswick – Sand and shingle beach.

All these beaches have great pubs within easy reach, making for a fantastic day out.

Beaches with Restrictions

  1. Thorpeness
  2. Aldeburgh

These restrictions usually apply from May to September. These areas are particularly convenient if you are staying in Aldeburgh, as it’s only 10 minutes away.

Felixstowe

Felixstowe has two main areas:

  1. Felixstowe North Beach
  2. Felixstowe South Beach

There’s a whole stretch of beach here, offering plenty of space for you and your dog.

My Favourite Dog-Friendly Beaches

My personal favourites are Southwold, Walberswick, and Aldeburgh. Each of these areas offers a beautiful mix of beach experiences, from shingle to sand, along with welcoming pubs and scenic views.
