#ThrowbackThursday to 6 years ago. I had a Formula Renault experience, which was just awesome! I was up against a couple of Lamborghinis and a Ferrari. And yes I did whoop them all! Need to get me one of these cars for the sleepy lanes of Suffolk #tbt... See MoreSee Less
We were all over the papers yesterday across England, as well as Wales & Scotland. (Not sure if we made it across the water)
It's a bit awkward though, as they've all quoted me as saying that winning the Visit England ROSE Award for service excellence, is all about "being nice" to people. I think what I actually said is "I don't like being nice to people, they get in the way" 🤣
Congratulations to you and your team 👏hope to visit you one day (maybe when I win your competition !🤣🤣)
It's good that word is getting around about your holiday barns. Papers are often known for miss quotes but now you have put us right, it makes more sense.🤣 Congrats either way. Onwards and upwards. X
👏👏👏
Congratulations ..celebratery ale tomorrow then Carl Scott
You have done it again, well done, perhaps you should try being nice to people, it could work 👍🥰
Well done. Wish everyone followed your ethos ❤️xx
Woodfarm is simple the nicest friendliest place to stay - award well deserved xx
As Partygate and Beergate continue to steer madly out of control, resulting only in the waste of countless thousands of public pounds, with no retribution, here is a stark reminder of the lengths that some of us went to in order to obey the rules. Even when home alone.
Here I am during one of our socially distanced, definitely not a party, all from our own homes, online pub quizzes, drinking Ribena, whilst still wearing my mask.
It definitely was Ribena and not beer. Obviously if I had been found guilty of drinking a beer following a huge enquiry then I would have had to resign, but this was Ribena. This photo has not been cleverly edited in any way.
Can't believe I managed to capture the lunar eclipse, and saw the full Flower Moon temporarily turn red!!!
Ok, in full disclosure, it didn't quite go to plan.
I'd read that it'd be best to see it just after 4am, so there I was, trotting across the fields to get away from trees, at about 4.15 this morning. I had my enormous telescope that my dad has given me (loaned, never getting back) slung over my shoulder, trying to get the best spot.
I did see it as I left the house, so I trudged across the fields to get a good vantage point. Only when I got across the fields away from the trees, it'd gone! I couldn't find it anywhere! How on earth do you lose a moon? Actually it isn't on earth, but you know what I mean.
It did say you could see it overnight on Sunday into Monday, "depending on where you are standing". Well clearly they should have told me where to stand!!!!
Anyway, I didn't want to let you down, so at vast expense I've had a skilled artist mock up what I did see before I set off with my telescope. If you look carefully at the attached mock up (which is a true representation of what I saw) I'm pretty sure I saw some signs of life on the moon!
If the demand is there, I may take a selfie later with the telescope, just so you can get the full picture.
The demand is there! I want to see the selfie! Xxx
I did see the moon during the night, but it wasn't red. It was very low in the sky though. X
I forgot!!! Thank goodness for your photo or I’d have missed out completely 😜xx
You're lucky! It was too cloudy here.
I didn’t see anything as I was asleep 😴 🛌 💤
View from Meadow View Hot Tub last night........honest guv 😉😁
4.15am
4.30am gone
Sound asleep so totally missed it
I’m glad the telescope is keeping you active, if never mentioned to Dad again he will forget you have it, so lucky he doesn’t do Facebook, just keep your brothers lips zipped. x🤐 🌝
I always knew there was a man living on the moon!
We saw it from Florida!! It was a bit cloudy, but you could definitely see it😄
Mist easing its way along the River Stour as I was crossing a bridge on me bike earlier this morning.
Had to stop and take a photo for you as none of you were with me. It was just beautiful.
None of you were with me as you were all too lazy to get up. That's the problem with the youth of today, and that is why this country has gone to the dogs. I'm sorry, I've no idea here that came from, I think its just the caffeine kicking in!
Anyway, I do hope you enjoy the photo. (From the comfort and warmth of your bed)
And that's exactly what I did! Stunning photo. Thanks for taking one for the team and getting up crack of dawn instead of us 😉
Flower moon at 4.30am tomorrow morning if you're up... Eclipse I think...
Beautiful. I wish I had been in bed at that time but was up clearing dog sick up off the kitchen floor and letting the mutts out in the pouring RAIN !! We all know where I would have liked to have been !
Well I was too far away - watching the sunrise in the Isle of Skye…….😇….. from the window in my PJ’s 😂😂🤣🤣!!
What a beautiful mystical photo. Well captured. Thanks for sharing. X
Lovely
I was up at an even sillier hour making a cuppa and taking somewhat different early morning photos. Shanks pony for me. You young folk and your wheels : that’s why this country has gone to the dogs!
Much obliged 😊
I just got up as I watched Eurovision last night. Beautiful photo though.
Very nice ..very noble of you
Here's our morning view
Beautiful photo,,,
Beautiful!
🛌 😴😆 but photo is beautiful
Stunning x
The problem is now people are always in a rush and do not take a minute to stop look around and appreciate what we have.
Oooh look what we missed by being lazy!
😂 gorgeous darling! My view was Loki, Stanley and Isaac all trying to squeeze in! Xx
Luckily for us we can lay in bed as we have strange people like you that get up at silly o'clock to take stunning pics like this to share with us!!! 😆
I was up at 7. Is that ok??🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for sharing this beauty with us layabouts. 🤣
Stunning photo 🥰
I was up at 5am doing my daily Wordle- anyway, at 67, thankfully I no longer come into the 'youth of today' category! Phew x
Ya know the whole ‘Partygate’ thing, where actual organised alcohol-fuelled parties took place in the heart of government during strict lockdown rules implemented by those actual people?
You know the ones; with DJ’s, karaoke, suitcases of wine etc?
Well I am ashamed to say that evidence has come to light of a potential breach within the very heart of Woodfarm!!!!
Apologies for the poor quality of the screenshot, but this is me pouring a beer during one of our online Pub Quizzes during lockdown.
What you’ll notice in the background is James, one of our NHS Heroes who suddenly found themselves staying at Woodfarm when we weren’t allowed to have proper guests.
So did we break the rules by being in the same garden, albeit many metres apart the whole time?
Well, it was a ‘Work event’, so maybe not. But I was drinking beer, which could turn out to be illegal contraband at that time if Keir Starmer is sent to prison for having one during a work event.
All I will say for now is that Sue Gray is working on this, and once her findings have been publicised, I will make a full statement. I cannot confirm at this stage if I will step down from my position as Woodfarm Head Honcho. Let’s just wait for the Sue Gray report shall we? If she finds James and I guilty, we will then look to have another enquiry using 'Johnson's Principle', or the 'Slippery Eel Method' as it is sometimes known.
Slither ye not! You were both doing essential work for the nation 😜 'The Sue Dorrell report' says so 😁 (and as it's my birthday today, I can say whatever I like...also in my report!) Xx
No worries. If you are found guilty then that qualifies you for the post of running the country. What an honour. You’d better start writing your acceptance speech 🤪
You will be fine not fined. It was work orientated so where was the problem. Keep up the good work, both of you. X
Shocking! I am gravely disappointed that someone held in such high esteem should stoop so low. I await the findings with interest.
Awwww I miss my evenings spent with James and Wilson xx
You may have to start acting like a buffoon and faffing about. Oh wait……….Nah I’m not going to say it 🤣🤣
And what about your pre ordered curry from the Zeera ??? 😁
There was always a lot of beer!
No you’re ok as you went straight back to work on the quiz afterwards xxx
Abandon hope. Dig out the Latin Dictionary. Start painting buses. Find those high viz vests for all the photo ops. Practice mumbling and using three word clichés. I will forget how corrupt you are and that I have a brain and vote for you in any election. What a great day for Suffolk. I feel so proud. 🏴
Oh I remember those heady (pass the beer) days where you brought joy and happiness to us in confinement. We you still bring joy and happiness obvs, but back then it was definitely a work thing. Where is James ?
Aw good times in the middle of such awfulness.... You were definitely hard at work and just doing what you needed to stay refreshed! It was the best kind of Partygate... Thank you.
Was there any 🎂 involved? 🤔😆
It’s ok, I think you are in the clear. I zoomed in and James is clearly on the laptop looking official. You have live streaming of the event, so as long as the content of the said laptop is bonafide there seems no case to answer.
Yours sincerely
Ms Gray
I love reading your posts they make me smile and sometimes even chuckle out loud x
I thought you were a bit unsteady on your feet today. 🤣😂
I miss the pub nights and quizzes. Loads of points.
It's #ThrowbackThursday, and after our recent escapades along the Suffolk Heritage coast with Onderneming, I came across this pic from 2017.
I was driving my own boat, heading back down the coast, shortly after I'd just bought two big Dutch Barges with which to expand the business. I had no idea then of the journey ahead, or just how popular they'd be.
Here we are, just going past the lighthouse at Orford Ness.
Two sad facts: The lighthouse was demolished in 2020, and I sold my boat that same year 😫. No more whizzing past the lighthouse at 25 knots on a bumpy sea.
I sold the boat to help pay for renovations on Woodfarm Tuscany, so life goes on x
We’re celebrating our 13th Birthday, so yes, Woodfarm is a teenager now! And as teenagers like to celebrate in a BIG way with friends, we’re giving away a free holiday, not just for you, but also ...

Nice one Carl.
It’s been a real pleasure watching the business grow from those early days.
Go on, write a song about it… on reflection, don’t. You know the effect your music has on me. X
Happy birthday 🥳🥳🥳
