The only downside to our stay is that we did not stay long enough.  The welcome basket was greatly appreciated and showed the attention to detail that Carl pays to barn.  The barn is well placed for getting out and about, we had a trip to Southwold and Aldeburgh.  An excellent short break and we will definitely be looking to book again in the future.

Friday 13th February 2015 – Faye and Rob with Archie the dog;

We loved our three night stay here.  The breakfast hamper from Carl on arrival was a delight and went down a treat the following morning.  Archie (puppy Labrador) enjoyed the secure garden where he did decide to keep himself happy by stealing the logs from the hedge! We went to Needham Lake which is a good walk and lovely scenery.  Archie enjoyed this too as he met lots of friendly dogs.  Framlingham Castle, is highly recommended – a lovely place to visit and dog friendly.  Stonham Barns is a good place for gifts.  A must, is Southwold beach, Archie loved it!  Overall what a great place this Barn was, just perfect from comfort and warmth, to location.  We will be recommending Wood Farm Barns to family and friends and hopefully will return again.

Fantastic little place away from it all!  Carl is very welcoming and has thought of so many little details;  the breakfast basket supplies were great.  Best little holiday detail was the ‘I’m on holiday dog tags’.  The barn is lovely and the fenced off garden is perfect for the dogs.  Would love to come back.

Saturday 25th July – Claire & Alfie;
A wonderful place to relax and enjoy Suffolk.  I can’t wait to come back.

Sunday 20th July –Hayley and Dean & Mollie;
What hasn’t Carl thought of?  Nothing!!  Even down to the spare dog towels and the dog tags. Lots of peace and quiet;  Just what we needed.  Mollie our dog didn’t want to leave.  Thanks Carl for a great break, you make everyone so welcome.  We will be back.

Thursday 17th July – Carole and Colin & Rosie;
At Last somewhere that welcomes dogs and has lovely accommodation and gardens with high standards.  Pub food was as promised very good.  The Highwayman not only welcomed dogs but supplied ours with cold chicken and veg on a plate!  Thanks Carl for a lovely pond to sit by and the use of bikes, dvd’s and books. In fact everything we could possibly wish for..Perfect.

Sunday 13th July – Katie and Tom
Again a lovely stay at Woodfarm Barns! I am sure we will be back again.  Carl was great and friendly as usual – very willing to help.  Enjoyed  lovely bike rides, walks and trips to Debenham, Bury, Aldeburgh and the Chilli farm – Highly recommended.  Thanks for a fab week.

Friday 18th July – Carolyn and Keith & Max the dog
Another smashing break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.  Think Carl has got it just right!  Love the little touches of the décor especially the new ‘flower bed’.  Plenty of walks for Max, lovely countryside; will definitely be back.

Friday 4th July – Irene and Len & Bushy  the dog;
After a disastrous journey we reached a little bit of heaven.  We guessed it would be great when booking from the warmth of Carl’s introduction.  Every possible need was met and all of the little touches that make the difference between good and superb.  Our only regret was not having found this sooner! Couldn’t comment on the places to visit; how could we tear ourselves away from heaven!

Thursday 12th June – Mike, Lyn and Burt & Tyler the dog;
Another good time.  Weather helped a lot as house and gardens in the mornings, afternoon and evening were always pleasant.  Nice to be welcomed especially by someone polite enough to laugh at my jokes! I’ll be back.

Monday 30th June – Jane and Mike;
Our first visit and it will not be our last!  A delightful location, charming accommodation.  We felt very comfortable having brought our dog and we were made to feel really welcome.  We will be telling all our friends about it

Monday 5th May 2014 – Mick & Anne with Casey the dog;
A lovely welcome from Carl. A stress-free holiday was just what we needed. The scenery and pubs were great. Hopefully we can stay even longer next time x

Friday 17th April 2014 – Jo & Leo with Todd the dog;
A very warm welcome from Carl. A lovely cosy holiday cottage with a great garden for the dog. We much appreciated the breakfast hamper. This is our first visit to Suffolk and we will definitely be back. We loved the peace and quiet and the dawn chorus was amazing. Walking with the dog down quiet country lanes and across fields has been a delight. Aldeburgh is well worth visiting, a real charming dog-friendly seaside place. So glad this place is on the internet. Thank you Carl for a relaxing break in a well-equipped holiday cottage

Friday 4th April 2014 – Carys & Dave;
A perfect stress-free weeks holiday in a beautiful barn. Thank you for the breakfast basket. We picked some fresh herbs from the herb garden for our mashed potatoes to go with our Jimmy’s Farm sausages. If you fancy some proper pub food the Four Horseshoes does just that! Great selection of DVD’s in the Shed. We didn’t get to take Daisy the Tandem out but maybe next time! xxx

Sunday 23rd March 2014 – John & Jayne;
Lovely holiday cottage and setting with lots of foot paths to follow. Will certainly return

Monday 17th March 2014 – Steve & Anita;

Friday 7th March 2014 – Emma & Catherine with Alfie and Ollie the dogs;
We have had such a wonderful time at Alde Barn. It has been peaceful and relaxing and the weather has been surprisingly good. We could not have hoped for a better week here. The dogs have really enjoyed it also. They have loved the chance to swim in the sea and will be sad to go. We have all enjoyed the woodburner and the lovely barn. Wonderful 🙂 Carl was really friendly and helpful; we will definitely be back. See you soon

Sunday 30th February 2014 – Fran & Mark;
Another wonderful visit. A warm welcome from Carl and Mark for the Pop Up Restaurant. If there’s one thing that makes this weekend away special, it’s being cooked a fabulous 7 course meal at a fantastic price! Love the barns and welcome pack; it makes life so easy 🙂 See you soon, this is now our regular holiday place xxx

Friday 14th February 2014 – Lynda & Mick with Bracken and Saffie the dogs;
What a gorgeous barn and a lovely warm welcome from Carl. Everything we expected and more. Beautiful area, amazing dog-friendly beaches. Must see’s are Lavenham for the quirky buildings and can strongly recommend the Swan for a fabulous afternoon tea. A walk up the lane with the dogs to the beautiful church has to be done. Southwold is fantastic; like stepping back in time, with pastel coloured beack huts and traditional pier with lovely shops. Aldeburgh Beach – lovely pebbly beach – dog friendly at this time of year. We ate at the Four Horseshoes and The Highwayman – recommend both. Would love to come back xx

Monday 10th February 2014 – Ruth and Jim;

Lovely stress-free week in a fantastic cottage with eveything you could want. Some great days out at the coast with some great walks with the dog. Cheers Carl

Monday 9th December 2013 – Jenny & Frank with Lajoo and Pirdie the dogs;
A heart-warming, stress-busting week made all the more special by the little touches like the welcome hamper, the Christmas tree and decorations and Carl’s personal welcome, but especially his “absolutely nothing is too much trouble” personality. Everything has been thought of and we wanted for nothing during our stay. Great days out with the dogs and romantic evenings in reminded us how important it is to take time out and share these special breaks at these special places. Woodfarm Barns is one of those places. Brilliant holiday

Friday 29th November 2013 – Sue and Tony with Harvey & Billie the dogs;
Have had a very enjoyable mid-week break, bought for us by my daughter who also holidayed in Alde Barn. Lovely home from home comforts. Carl has thought of everything; lovely welcome basket, comfortable bed, candles and best of all, luxury accommodation accepting dogs. I don’t know who liked that more; us or our two dogs! Loved the enclosed garden; great for the dogs. Log fire made it really cottagey. Had a great day out at Minsmere beach near Dunwich. Very dog-friendly and they loved it. Only negative we can say is that we weren’t here long enough! We will definitely tell all our friends about these lovely barns and be returning very soon. Seems a great place to conme and spend Christmas with all the family. Thanks Carl

Sunday 17th November 2013 – Debbie and Jimmy;
Thank you so much Carl for making our stay cosy and romantic. The barns are filled with charm and character, as are you! The special touches such as the breakfast hamper and your welcoming personality made our stay all the more lovely x – We would love to come back and will be recommending your beautiful holiday barns to all our friends. Thanks again and hope to see you soon

Sunday 10th November 2013 – Sue with Webb the dog;
As has been said many times, Carl has provided a warm, relaxing and very comfortable weekend retreat. Very dog friendly. Framlingham well worth a visit to the Saturday market. Sizewell beach is far better than it sounds. Southwold; beautiful seaside town, like going back in time on the lovely old pier. A brilliant place for a holiday with your dog. Thanks Carl

Friday 1st November 2013 – Sarah And Richard;
Truly wonderful romantic retreat – The barns are beautiful and perfect. Everything you need and the delightful breakfast basket on arrival is a real treat! Carl, you are a real gentleman and thank you for being so accommodating through the storm! Sorry you lost your trees but thank goodness no damage to the barns. Hopefully we should have a new car very soon!! Would love to come back and will tell all our friends!!! Good luck – PS – Hopefully come back for our next anniversary. Such a romantic cottage

Friday 25th October 2013 – Rita with Hamish the dog;
A brilliant week. So relaxing. The dog loved it! Will definitely return!

Friday 11th October 2013 – Kerri and Matt with Sophie the dog;
Fantastic few days away in Alde Barn! Ickworth House was very dog friendly, the Red Lion in Barking – 100% veggie food; great food, great staff, great place. Dog friendly – Framlingham Castle – 100% dog friendly – Adnams Brewery tour was excellent; great beer tasting and walk with the dog on the beach afterwards – Four Horseshoes pub was also excellent and dog friendly – Needham Lake was beautiful and lastly Alder Carr Farm Shop for great local supplies

Friday 4th October 2013 – John and Pamela;
Have enjoyed a tranquil break in this setting which exceeded our expectations of a holiday cottage. Our thanks to Carl for his attention to detail and generosity. We have visited Lavenham, Woodbridge and Southwold; all within very easy travelling distance. Can highly recommend Sutherland House in Southwold for excellent food. We look forward to returning

Friday 20th September 2013 – . John and Julie with Ozzy the dog;
You can see the care and effort Carl has taken to make your holiday comfortable. You are made to feel very welcome and it’s not just the lovely clean barn itself but the little things like the candles, plant on the table, lovely hand washes etc. The welcome basket is the best ever. Outside is so picturesque; the pond area especially. The self-contained garden for the dog is brilliant and to have your own BBQ is a great idea for warmer evenings. A very heartfelt thank you Carl

Sunday 22nd September 2013 – Stephanie & John with Izzie the dog:
Great place to stay. Loved the breakfast and provisions. Framlingham has a great Deli and a great market on Saturdays to pick up lovely food and drink for a romantic night in. Also great pubs and interesting shops. We loved the walks and so did Izzie our dog

Sunday 22nd September 2013 – Val & Roy:
Having known Woodfarm Barns from it’s conception to completion, from a rough meadow to the perfect holiday retreat, we decided to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary in Alde Barn. It was just perfect! PS – We must admit a little bias – we’re Carl’s Mum and Dad. We’re so proud of him and what he has achieved (Note from Carl – not everyone gets it FREE!)

Friday 13th September 2013 – Dave, Sarah & Barney the dog:
Had a really nice 4 days holiday here with the dog. The barn was comfortable and cosy and Carl is a great host. We went to Aldeburgh and Southwold, both lovely seaside towns and there are loads of great dog walks right on the doorstep. The Victoria in Earl Soham is a nice pub and very dog friendly. Thanks for a great week

Monday 9th September 2013 – Geoff & Hugo:
We’ve thoroughly enjoyed our stay – Our only complaint; 3 nights is not long enough! The barn is so luxurious, comfortable and welcoming we didn’t want to leave it. Walks and cycle rides from here are so good there’s no need to go too far. We had a great meal in the Four Horseshoes and the Alder Carr Farm Shop met all our shopping needs, and then some! The home made ice cream is the best I’ve ever tasted, don’t miss out. We’ll be back – hopefully next time with our dog who would’ve loved the private garden, complete with rabbits! Thank you Carl for a great stay

Friday 30th August 2013 – Chris and Teresa:
A very warm welcome by Carl on arrival, who is always on hand if needed! He is also a mine of information if you need any help with places to visit during your holiday, recommendations etc etc. On this note we can highly recommend the Highwayman about ten mins away. The antique centre in Yoxford is well worth a visit too, as is Southwold

Sunday 1st September 2013 – Sonia and Martin with Ralf & Jet, the dogs;
A lovely cosy retreat way from it all – Had a lovely stay, only here for the weekend, wish we could stay longer! Certianly be recommending it and will definitely be back. Thank you Carl

Friday 23rd August 2013 – Mark, Debs and Ellie the dog:
If you’re reading this at the start of your break you’re in for a treat. The most warming and re-assuring welcome greets you with Carl. He gives you all the info you require then you’re left in the tranquility and peace of Woodfarm Barns but he’s still in the background in case you require any assistance. We visited the coast including Southwold as well as smaller local attractions and towns. The choice is endless. Our dog Ellie loved the enclosed garden which was a big bonus for us. The cleanliness was very good and all the mod cons worked well. Made a change to have a comfortable bed whilst away. Carl, you’ve done well and no need to change a thing; we will be sure to be returning

Sunday 25th August 2013 – Andrew and Jayne with Bertie & Alfie the dogs:

This is a perfect holiday home from home. Most luxurious bed in 6 weeks of travelling!

Sunday 28th July 2013, Sue & Richard
Only here for two nights – Wish it was longer. A perfect place in a perfect spot – can’t wait to return! We went to Aldeburgh, walked along the beach, had a drink in the pub and met some real (v. friendly) characters and finished with fish & chips – what could be better?

Friday 26th July 2013, Kate & Kevin:
Good Lord, what a find! A superb location with a beautifully appointed conversion. We’ll certainly be back again. We won’t say masses on the cottage/ barn, given that this has been covered fairly eloquently. A perfect romantic getaway and we look forward to staying at Alde Barn again. Thanks Carl!

Sunday 21st July 2013, John, Sue & Charlie the Staffy:
We really loved staying here and Carl made us most welcome and was very helpful. As you can see, the holiday barns are beautiful and very well designed and set up in lovely surroundings. Suffolk is a great and unspoilt County and we have visited most of the coastal towns. My son had stayed here last year and highly recommended it to us. He was not wrong and I am pleased to do the same to you and our friends back home. Thank you for a wonderful, relaxing place for a romantic break x
